Chapter 03

[ equip Iron pikeax?]

[equip iron pikeax?]

[equip bronze pikeax?]

As he ravaged through the pile of pike axes Enzo was besieged by a group of notifications in his head.

To explore the unknown that was the vast universe, weavetech had incorporated an independent fully autonomous Ai system into all of its weavers. It not only helped to identify the unknown…it also increased humanities knowledge of the vast universe and its secrets.

So from a random rock on the floor, to certain specie of creatures, the system would provide deep or shallow descriptions depending on its level of knowledge.

"Really?" Feeling a bit disappointed by how weak the pile of pikeaxes infront of him were, Enzo smacked his tongue. This was annoying, he at least thought that just maybe he would get a high grade mining tool since everyone else was so busy in the Yuno mine.

"Whatever I don't have much time" picking up a random pickax he heard a notification follow.

[Tool equipped: Iron pickax]

[Functions: Digging and breaking apart materials]

[Ability: Null]

[Durability: 300/300]

Not wasting anytime looking at the stats of the tool Enzo looked west and began lightly jogging in that direction, Leaving the administrator to continue sulking in depression.

Meanwhile, as Enzo ran through the rocky tarrain he was filled with a sense of foreboding as he inches closer to the dreaded Yuno mine.

This place was bound to be crowded with insanely powerful humans with great builds vying for the materials it offered. He liked to think that the monsters inside the mine would be the most dangerous thing he would face inside…..

But deep down? He knew for a fact that it would be humans, to be precise…..

Other Weavers.

There were the truly strong individuals in human society, with the use of sophisticated Weavetech, they had created the most elite bodies blessed with attributes that could only be referred to as boarderline magical.

What would such a being with so much power be doing in this sort of place you might ask? Quite simple mercenary work.

They were here to 'secure' the assets of big corporations. to a lone miner like himself, they were his worst nightmare.

Not long after, the mountain range that was the Yuno mine appeared before him as he rushed directly towards the Main gate.

"A line, as expected" Enzo shook his head and walked toward the line smoothly joining it from behind. On that line, several massive human sililhouttes appeared in his perview.

"Come forward , I don't have much time today!!" At the front of the line. An attendants voice resounded.

Enzo looked around in dismay as he watched the line move forward slowly, everyone on the line was at least 7'5 tall, with builds so impressive he could only look at them from blow in fear.

These weavers were nothing if not impressive, it reminded him to take note not to be in the same vicinity as any of them or fight for rights to anything while inside.

Soon, he got to the end of the line and stopped before the attendant.

"ID please" the attendant not bothering to look at him asked waving his hand at a device just below his stand.

Enzo looked at where he was pointing and stretched his hand into a small hole there waiting for it to scan. The old swindler was required by law to pay for an official mining ID and place it in the clone body before weaving to a mining planet.

This was according to code, and very few disobeyed since it was quite cheap to get the ID. Unfortunately some didn't so this procedure was needed.

"Hmm, shitty build, you realize that the mines death rate is more than 70% per batch right?" After the scanning was completed, the attendant took a look at Enzo's stats and frowned.

Mining didn't just include digging, there was a lot of fighting involved. Especially if one finds something exceptional.

"I…am private" Enzo broke into an akward smile, he didn't have much of a choice, he was here for a job.

"Hmmm, reckless kids. Tell you what? There's a team going down the second level…you don't really need to follow them down there they are just looking to fill the quota. It'll be much safer" the attendant spoke a look of concern on her face.

She could remember when she was a private miner, the number of close brushes with death. It was a cycle of unending pain and suffering, looking out for someone who was clearly struggling was a natural response.

"Ohhh…I don't know" Enzo paused, going in with others was actually beneficial especially if they were going to the second level of the mine. They had to be stronger than the average Joe right? But Enzo had his reservations.

People were complicated, and he was used to going at it alone.

"Okay, but there's a veteran star weaver amongst them, you won't have a safer ride elsewhere" the attendant added. She couldn't force him to join a team. It was something he had to agree to do on his own.

Weavers were generally ranked based on their body capabilities and skills. However, there were a special set of weavers called star weavers who were several times better and stronger than the average weaver.

Star weavers.

As he was now, he barely even qualified for the rank of mortal weaver, but a star weaver was leaps and bounds ahead of him in terms of strength.

"A Star weaver? Hey kid, if you don't want to join their team I can do it for you. It's not a big deal" someone behind Enzo who had heard these words immediately chimed in hoping to by cut him.

Having the opportunity to be around a Star weaver was golden. He could easily become friends with him and reap a large amount of benefits.

"Hmp!! What do you say kid?" The attendant heard the other weaver and frowned before turning back to Enzo.

"Uhhh, I guess I'll do that. Thank you very much" Enzo nodded and bowed gratefully. with a few directions he was pointed to a group of weavers beside the mine entrance picking out weapons.

.

"Hello, I was pointed over here by the attendant. Heard you need a plus one" Enzo as soon as he approached spoke in a rather loud voice, startling them.

"What the hell?!! You want me to have a heart attack or something kid? You can't just sneak up on people like that" one of the weavers, male with a full beard jumbed back and brandished a sword in a split second looking at Enzo with surprise all over his face.

The kid had move towards them too silently, if this wasn't a public place, he would have attacked upon hearing such a loud voice.

"Woah, was that a skill?" Instead of feeling bad about what just happened, Enzo was more interested in something else.

The man brandishing the sword infront of him had phased like a hologram just now and appeared a few meters away like he was never there!!
