Lilith screamed, "God, please don't let Tenebris die! Take my life if you must, but please… let him live. He doesn't deserve to die!" She started sobbing uncontrollably.
Jewel said sadly, "The loss of Tenebris is truly a tragedy that can't be undone."
Then Lilith began to radiate magic power unlike ever before. Jewel's eyes widened.
"She's losing control! Everyone, get away!"
A massive circular formation of dark energy began to form around Lilith.
Jewel shouted, "If we don't stop it, everyone within a hundred‑kilometer radius will be turned to dust!"
Sujibur said, "What can we do to stop it, sir? All magic attacks turn to dust when they touch it!"
Jewel answered, "Want to see the real reason I'm always deployed beside Lilith?" He raised his hands.
"Light Magic: Summon—Lamp of Avior! Now… Light Magic: Lux Chirothecam!"
He jumped forward and punched at the forming black hole.
"Sir, you'll die!" Sujibur cried.
"Not here," Jewel replied, tearing off his shirt. "This thing will just get in the way!"
"Now… Lamp of Avior—225× Lumina Suprema Devastatio!"
His fists crashed into the void, and to everyone's astonishment, the black hole actually stopped expanding.
Sujibur gasped, "Incredible… the vice‑captain's magic is so pure and bright!"
Jewel thought to himself: My holy relic can divide my magic attacks. But instead of becoming weaker, each division multiplies in power. Right now I'm using fifteen divisions—each one fifteen times stronger on its own—and yet, even with all this, I can only hold back Lilith.
But the black hole began to expand again.
"Even that wasn't enough… Now—Rampage!"
Jewel roared and poured in more power. He managed to hold the black hole in place, but could not overpower it.
"Everyone, get away while I hold it back!"
His fists trembled against the immense pull.
"I never wanted to use this… but oh well. Light Magic: Suprema Lumina Vastatio Infinita Origo Ictus!"
From afar, everyone watched in awe and terror.
Sujibur whispered, "Captain… Vice‑Captain… please come back to us in one piece…"
Almost consumed by the black hole, Jewel gritted his teeth.
"Not here! Light Magic: Lumina Suprema Absoluta Annihilatio—Rampage 400×!"
The spell detonated with overwhelming radiance, halting the black hole's expansion.
"It ends here!" Jewel shouted, driving his fists into the void.
The impact shattered the black hole, but the last attack cost him his left arm.
Lilith collapsed, unconscious.
Jewel fell to one knee, panting. "I… did it. But I suppose my arm was a small price."
Everyone rushed to him.
"Someone help me stop the bleeding!" Jewel ordered.
Sujibur's eyes widened. "Sir… your arm!"
"It's my pride," Jewel said weakly, a faint smile on his face. "Proof that I finally defeated Lilith in an all‑out fight. Kinda sad… I used up all my magic power."
"But sir—" Sujibur began.
"Make sure Lilith is okay," Jewel interrupted.
But as the dust settled, it became clear… because of the black hole, not even Tenebris's bones were left. He had been reduced to nothing but dust.
