"Hey, Annette. How are you holding up?" asked Alexandria, padding into Annette's house, having taken off her pumps at the front porch.
"About as well as I can be, given the circumstances," sighed Annette, setting down a couple of steaming mugs of coffee, black for Alexandria, and with almond milk for her.
"Well, you certainly are looking healthier," said Alexandria.
"Thanks, I guess. Dr. Kitagawa has been on my case to take vitamin fortified juices," said Annette.
"I see. So? How is school these days?" asked Alexandria.
"Going all right. I miss Anna's company, but there are other students to take care of. Particularly Ester. She's been through a lot, and was questioned by the SZPD just a few days ago," said Annette.
"I see," said Alexandria.
"But enough about me. How are you doing? It must be quite the chore to work in a high-stress job like yours, and then chauffeur those kids around," said Annette.
