AYLA'S POV
Snow swirled in the hollow, catching the faint light of the fractured moon. The cliffs above loomed like jagged fangs, and Cassia's voice slithered down between them, soft as poison.
"Did you really think he wandered into your life by accident, little Luna?"
Kael's sword gleamed in the moonlight, his black wolf bristling under his skin. His golden eyes burned with murderous intent as he took a step toward Rylan. "You've been hers all along."
Rylan didn't flinch, though his knives stayed in his hands, ready. "I've been no one's all along. I told you—I wanted her alive. I still do."
"You led her into a trap!" Kael's voice roared through the gorge, his wolf's fury vibrating through the bond so violently it stole my breath.
"You delivered my bloodline into Cassia's hands."
