AYLA'S POV
Silver heat surged through my veins, my blood responding to the command. I pressed my palm to the wound, and the snow hissed as runes flared across my skin, sealing the bleeding with a burning pulse.
Kael's eyes widened. "You—"
"I'm not done yet," I hissed, staggering to my feet.
The eyeless god lunged.
Kael intercepted, his massive wolf form slamming into it with a snarl that split the night. Shadows and fur clashed, teeth snapping, claws carving the snow into ribbons. Sparks from the burning trees rained over them like falling stars.
I lifted my hand, silver fire curling from my fingertips, and the ground pulsed beneath me. The bond flared—weak but alive—as my wolf surged forward, her voice ripping through my throat in a howl that shook the trees.
Every wolf froze.
The eyeless god hesitated, its smoky body flickering. And in that instant, I seized the bond—ours, the pack's, the line of the First Luna—and pulled.
Power ripped through me like lightning.
