Chapter 28 - ch-28 return home

After a long journey, Akg finally returned to Pallet Town. The familiar sights and peaceful atmosphere brought a sense of calm after the emotional farewell. As he stepped into his home, the quiet felt a little too still—too empty without the voices of Serena, Korrina, and Chloe echoing around him.

He placed his bag down, sighed softly, and walked to the window, gazing at the sky. "Back home..." he murmured.

With a soft shimmer of light, Rena, his beloved partner , emerged from the Pokéball hanging around his neck. She looked around with gentle, sad eyes, her mood dim. Having to hide during the entire camp to avoid drawing attention, she never got the chance to say goodbye to Serena, Korrina, or Chloe—her new friends.

Akg noticed the sorrow in her expression. Without a word, he bent down, gently picked her up into his arms, and softly rubbed her head.

"I know, Rena," he said with a warm voice, "You miss them too. You became such good friends... and couldn't even say goodbye."

Rena looked up at him with sad eyes

"I really want to say goodbye to them master "

Hearing voice in his head Akg smiled gently. "We'll meet them again one day. And best of all…" he tilted her face up with a finger, "I can let you out freely now. As now I have permission to hold one pokemon before getting trainer licence from Pokémon Alliance so you don't have to hide anymore"

Rena's eyes sparkled with happiness, and she let out a cheerful cry, throwing her small arms around Akg in a tight hug. He held her close, heart warmed by the bond they shared.

"Let's rest for today," Akg whispered. "There's a long journey ahead of us."

Rena nodded softly, still in his arms, finally at peace.

After resting and spending some peaceful moments with Rena, Akg sat by his desk, his mind no longer still. Though the summer camp had ended, his journey was only just beginning. However, he knew that becoming an official trainer required him to wait at least two more years until he reached the age of eligibility. Two years… that time couldn't be wasted.

"I need to do something," he thought, eyes narrowing in determination. "Something that builds both my reputation and strength."

His mind wandered to the knowledge he carried from his past world—deep understanding of Pokémon behavior, types, evolutions, battle strategies, and even rare traits and mythical patterns. An idea sparked like lightning in his mind.

"Why not become a Pokémon Professor?"

With his vast knowledge and maturity far beyond his age, he knew it was possible. Working with Professor Oak, he could not only contribute valuable insight into Pokémon research, but also earn respect, reputation, and resources from the Pokémon Alliance. Being a professor would give him connections, credibility, and a strong foundation for the future. It would also allow him to study more about Pokémon from all regions, giving him an even greater edge when he finally became a licensed trainer.

Rena, sitting by his side, tilted her head curiously. Akg smiled and looked at her.

"Rena, how does Professor Akg sound?"

She giggled in her soft Ralts voice and nodded, already excited at the thought of what they could learn together.

And with that, Akg made up his mind. Tomorrow, he would go visit Professor Oak to discuss the idea—and begin a new chapter as a future Pokémon Professor.

Thinking so Akg opened his system panel, a translucent screen shimmered into view, filled with the glowing stats that reminded him of who he truly was:

Akg stared at the panel, blinking in awe. In all the fun and chaos of the summer camp, the friendships, the adventures, and the warmth of simple moments… he had completely forgotten.

He wasn't just a boy anymore. He was a High Human—a being with limitless potential.

A gentle smile crossed his lips as he leaned back, gazing up at the sky, eyes soft. "I really did start to enjoy this peaceful life… like a normal boy," he murmured. "But I can't forget who I am… and what I promised."

Above in the divine realm, Mera—the radiant Goddess of Reincarnation and his wife—watched from her celestial domain. Her lips curved in a warm smile, seeing her beloved remembering his true self. Though a hint of jealousy had visited her before, now her heart was calm, knowing his heart still carried her.

"My foolish but lovable husband," she whispered, "You finally remembered… You were born to shine across worlds."

As light bathed his room through the window, Akg clenched his fists gently, not in anger—but in resolve.

"Let's begin a new chapter. As a future Pokémon Professor… and something far more."

And beside him, Rena looked up with her bright eyes, sensing a change. The future was calling—and he was ready.
