The air in the cafeteria seemed to solidify.
Cai Yue'er's silver hair billowed as her soul power surged around her. The silvery glow between her wrinkled hands grew increasingly intense.
The controlled students moved with fluidity, their eyes glowing with an eerie blue light, relentlessly charging toward this elder of Sea God Pavilion.
"Gu La!"
Tang Wulin's Blue Silver Grass coiled around the ankles of three classmates like serpents, its golden-veined leaves shimmering. However, he carefully avoided injuring them.
Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as his voice carried an unprecedented urgency. "Stop this! The academy will give you a fair resolution!"
Gu La stood atop a dining table, his green uniform spotless. He casually rotated his wrist, and the controlled students shifted formations like marionettes.
Hearing Tang Wulin's shout, a mocking smirk curled at the corner of Gu La's lips. "Fair? Are you sure it's not someone abusing their authority and acting on a whim?"
Before his words faded, the azure in his pupils suddenly surged.
Cai Yue'er's thoughts had been exposed, and though she was furious, she retained her composure. She knew she couldn't harm the innocent students—the priority now was to save them.
"Be careful!"
Yue Zhengyu's pure white wings abruptly unfurled behind him, forming a barrier of holy light in front of him.
But the invisible mental attack had already struck. He grunted, falling to one knee as his temples throbbed violently.
Na'er's Silver Dragon Spear emitted a clear dragon's roar, its tip tracing a silvery arc—but it mysteriously halted three meters away from Gu La.
Xu Xiaoyan gripped her ice staff tightly, unsure whom to side with, looking pitiful as she lingered in the corner.
Seeing this, Cai Yue'er barked sternly, "Close your eyes! It's a mental illusion!"
Her gnarled hands abruptly clasped together. Her eighth soul ring blazed with red light as her silvery moonlight power collided with the intangible mental force mid-air, creating visible ripples that spread outward.
But breaking through Gu La's labyrinth of illusions required at least ten times the spiritual power—or else killing the controlled individuals or having Gu La voluntarily release the illusion.
Cai Yue'er wasn't strong enough.
Gu La chuckled softly, his hair swaying without wind. "What about this?"
His right hand suddenly pressed downward, and the entire cafeteria floor began to ripple like ocean waves. Tang Wulin's Blue Silver Grass snapped instantly, and over a dozen students simultaneously spat out nosebleeds.
Cai Yue'er fended off the controlled students while shooting a murderous glare at Gu La.
She extended her bark-like, wrinkled hand, silver light blazing as her soul power transformed into a phantom-like giant hand, reaching for Gu La.
Still seething with anger, Gu La naturally wouldn't let her grab him so easily. Ignoring the overwhelming soul power surrounding him, he teleported to the back.
"Gu La!"
Tang Wulin continued releasing Blue Silver Coils to assist Cai Yue'er in restraining the students, shouting again in an attempt to dissuade him.
"Stop! Don't continue down this wrong path!"
He knew Gu La had always been proud, but never imagined he would control students to attack a teacher over a mere punishment.
The atmosphere grew increasingly tense, ready to explode at any moment.
"Everyone, stop!"
Sensing the fluctuations of soul power, the academy's upper echelons finally arrived.
When Zhuo Shi's figure appeared ghost-like at the entrance, the air suddenly turned viscous.
The oppressive force of a Super Douluo caused everyone's movements to freeze, even the floating dust particles suspended in place.
Shen Yi peeked out from behind him, her face pale as she stared at Gu La confronting Cai Yue'er high above.
"The farce ends here."
Yun Ming's voice came from above. Golden rain of light descended, each droplet precisely embedding itself into the foreheads of the controlled students.
Gu La's pupils contracted sharply as the mental illusion he had woven was being dismantled inch by inch by a higher level of spiritual power. The fallen students gradually regained clarity in their eyes, their madness fading to be replaced by confusion.
When everyone came to their senses, Gu La had already retreated to the shadowy corner by the window.
He smoothed out non-existent creases on his cuffs, as if the previous confrontation had been nothing more than an illusion.
"Dean Cai, what is going on here?"
Yun Ming's voice was calm, yet carried an unsettling authority.
He stood at the entrance of the cafeteria, his black hair fluttering without wind. The robe of the Sea God Pavilion master shimmered faintly under the sunlight. The air in the entire cafeteria seemed to solidify, even the dust frozen in place.
Cai Yue'er retracted her martial soul, her nine soul rings disappearing one by one, but her face remained ashen. "Pavilion Master, it's Gu La. He refused to comply and manipulated students to attack a teacher."
"I saw."
Yun Ming's gaze pierced through the crowd, landing directly on Gu La. His gaze seemed capable of seeing through all disguises, yet Gu La remained unfazed, perfectly calm.
When Yun Ming's eyes fell upon him, the boy slightly bowed, his lips curling into an appropriately apologetic smile. "Greetings, Pavilion Master."
Yun Ming didn't respond immediately, instead turning to the recently awakened students. His gaze swept over each face, causing those who met his eyes to instinctively lower their heads.
"Everyone, proceed to the infirmary for examination immediately. Today's events are not to be discussed outside." His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable command.
The students fled in relief, staggering out of the room.
Soon, only those involved in the fight, Gu La, and two senior members of Shrek Academy remained in the cafeteria.
Tang Wulin keenly noticed that Xie Xie's right hand was quietly resting on his Light Dragon Dagger, his knuckles white from gripping it tightly. Yuanen Yehui's Dark Magic Sword had reappeared in her hand at some point, its tip trembling slightly.
Yue Zhengyu glared at Gu La, his eyes filled with both anger and a trace of barely perceptible apprehension—his Angelic Martial Soul had been utterly powerless before Gu La.
"Gu La," Yun Ming finally spoke, each word carrying the weight of a thousand jin. "Explain your actions."
Gu La spread his hands, feigning innocence, but the faint smirk on his lips betrayed his true thoughts. "I simply thought Dean Cai's punishment was unfair. Yue Zhengyu provoked first, yet everyone was punished equally. That's unreasonable."
As he spoke, he shot Yue Zhengyu a meaningful glance, leaving a subtle implication.
"So you trapped over sixty students in an illusion and manipulated them to attack a teacher?"
Yun Ming's voice remained calm, but the pressure in the air suddenly intensified. Tang Wulin felt his breathing grow difficult, as if an invisible mountain weighed heavily on his chest.
Gu La felt his bones creak under the strain, yet he maintained his carefree smile and shrugged. "I merely gave them an opportunity to express their true thoughts."
"Arrogant!" Cai Yue'er roared, her silver hair flying. "Pavilion Master, this boy has ill intentions. He should be expelled immediately! To set an example for others!"
Yun Ming raised a hand, halting her with this simple gesture. The movement instantly subdued Cai Yue'er's raging aura.
"Gu La, your spiritual power cultivation… has reached the peak of the Spirit Abyss Realm, hasn't it?"
