"We're here," Hades murmured, giving the girl in his arms a gentle nudge.
Outside, the sky had already darkened, and the carriage came to a slow halt.
The other passengers began to shuffle out, their footsteps and murmurs filling the quiet.
The only other woman in the carriage glanced at them and said, "Stay safe. Don't get scammed."
Hades gave her a polite nod, then felt a faint stir against his chest.
Luna's lashes fluttered before she slowly blinked herself awake. "We… reached?" she mumbled, rubbing her eyes.
Hades couldn't stop the small smile tugging at his lips. She looked so endearing half-asleep like this.
He reached out to smooth her slightly messy hair, his touch lingering. "Yes," he said softly. "Let's find an inn so you can rest properly."
Luna leaned into his hand with a content little smile, as if savoring the warmth.
For a moment, they sat there in a peaceful silence that didn't need words.
