Chapter 2 - Reincarnated as... a cat? (2)

In the world of Arventia, players could choose from eight main classes:

Warrior – masters of sword and shield combat, reliable and resilient on the front lines.

Berserker – wild and powerful, wielding colossal weapons like axes and behemoth blades.

Mage – spellcasters who harness elemental and arcane magic through staffs or tomes.

Archer – swift and precise, raining arrows from a distance with deadly accuracy.

Healer – protectors of life, mending wounds and restoring strength in the heat of battle.

Supporter – buffers and tacticians, enhancing allies with magical boosts and barriers.

Assassin – silent killers, quick and deadly, striking from the shadows.

And finally, beast tamer/master – those who form bonds with magical beasts and fight alongside them in perfect harmony.

In the Kingdom of Dravalon, no name was more revered among beast tamers than that of the Silvervein Clan. It was a prestigious House said to be blessed by the divine. The clan had produced generations of legendary tamers, their names etched in the annals of history and sung by bards across the realm.

For the Silvervein, taming powerful beasts wasn't just tradition, it was destiny, it was duty..

Thus, from childhood, every Silvervein heir was trained rigorously. They studied magical beasts, learned summoning techniques, and were molded with one goal in mind: to become a powerful, renowned tamer worthy of the family legacy.

And then, at the age of eighteen, each child faced their first and most crucial trial.

Within the sacred summoning chamber of the Silvervein estate, a ritual would be performed, allowing them to summon their very first magical beast.

This moment was considered super critical, for a beast tamer's first companion would be the only one to remain by their side until they reached the next stage of their class. Together, they would fight, grow, and build the foundation of their strength. The stronger the first beast, the faster the tamer could progress.

And here, the strength of their summoned beast held even more weight. A powerful first summon also meant a higher chance of being accepted into Luminaris, the most prestigious academy of magic in the entire kingdom, reserved for nobles, royals, and the exceptionally gifted.

And so, as Emilia Silvervein stepped into the summoning circle, the weight of generations pressed down on her shoulders.

This was her moment.

Her future would be shaped by whatever answered her call.

—-----

The summoning chamber was vast, glowing with a brilliant light cast by hundreds of floating crystal orbs. At its center, etched into the marble floor, pulsed an enormous, intricately carved magic circle.

"Come on, you can do it!"

"We believe in you, Emilia!"

Voices of encouragement rang out from the sidelines. There, two young men watched proudly. Alexander Silvervein and Marco Silvervein, Emilia's elder brothers, had once stood in this very circle. They both had summoned Epic-tier magical beasts during their first ritual and had since been accepted into Luminaris Academy.

Emilia turned toward them, her cheeks flushed pink as a smile bloomed across her face. "Thank you, dear brothers," she said with a graceful bow.

Then she turned again, this time to face a woman standing nearby, who was so beautiful that no woman in this entire kingdom would rival. Her long, white hair flowed like silk, and her deep blue eyes shimmered with quiet strength. Draped in a starry black gown and a flowing robe adorned with silver embroidery, she looked like she had stepped out of a myth.

This was no ordinary woman. She was Lady Ariana Silvervein, first wife of the clan's head—and Emilia's mother.

"Mother…" Emilia's voice trembled as emotion welled in her chest. "Thank you so much, for raising me, for teaching me everything about magical beasts... for preparing me for this moment."

Their eyes met, two identical shades of blue, like starlight reflected on a midnight sea. Lady Ariana stepped forward and wrapped her daughter in a warm embrace, pressing a gentle kiss to her snowy-white hair.

"Oh, Emilia…" she whispered. Her voice, soft yet steady, brimmed with pride. "Just remember this. No matter what, I'm so proud of you. Now go in there and summon a dragon!"

"Yes!" Emilia beamed, pumping her fist with sudden confidence. With her mother's blessing, the fire in her heart blazed even brighter. She would summon a powerful beast. No, a legendary one!

After all, she had worked tirelessly for this day. She'd been a star student, the top of her class, trained by her mother, her father, and even her grandfather. Her magical aptitude had been tested and confirmed to be exceptionally high, surpassing even Alexander and Marco at her age.

Everyone believed she was destined for greatness. They told her again and again: there was no way she'd summon anything less than an Epic-tier beast.

But as Emilia stepped into the center of the glowing circle, her hands began to tremble.

Half of her was excited.

The other half… was afraid.

After all… what if she failed?

What if she couldn't summon an Epic beast?

What if… she let everyone down?

"Relax, Emilia."

A deep, commanding voice echoed from above.

Standing atop the high platform at the edge of the chamber was a towering man clad in an ornate white robe, trimmed with crimson, and draped in a regal cape that billowed slightly despite the still air. His eyes burned red like twin flames, and his mere presence radiated such overwhelming authority that it could silence a crowd with a single glance. His hair, a cascade of fiery red spikes, was unmistakably similar to Alexander's and Marco's.

This was Draco Silvervein, head of the Silvervein Clan, also known across the realm as the Fire Dragon Emperor. A Tier-9 Beast Tamer, bonded with a 9-star legendary magical beast, and more than that…

He was Emilia's father.

"Yes, Father," Emilia responded softly. She closed her eyes, then drew in a long, steady breath

 ...and released it.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Her trembling slowed, then ceased.

"Remember what we taught you," Draco continued, his voice calm yet brimming with power. "Offer your most earnest prayer to the Goddess of Magical Beasts, and she will guide the creature meant to walk beside you."

"Yes, I will." Emilia nodded, taking in every word of her father.

"Very good." Draco smiled.

He was not the only one sitting though.

Beside him sat the Five Silvervein Elders, each solemn, each powerful in their own right. Her grandfather, sadly, was away on a confidential mission and unable to attend.

Still, another honored guest had taken his place, one whose presence stirred murmurs among even the proud Silvervein elite.

Elmandia Gray, Headmaster of Luminaris Academy, sat just to Draco's left.

Tall and thin, with sleek black hair and sharp, thoughtful purple eyes, he radiated an aura not as crushing as Draco's, but colder, more precise, like a blade wrapped in velvet.

He had come personally to witness the summoning ritual of the prodigy whispered about throughout noble circles, the youngest Silvervein daughter said to outshine even her brothers.

Elmandia leaned forward slightly. "Emilia. Don't worry about us. Pay no attention to anyone else. This moment belongs to you," he said gently.

"Thank you, Headmaster," Emilia said, bowing deeply with reverence.

And now… all eyes were on her.

"So, Emilia, are you ready?" her father's voice rumbled through the chamber like distant thunder,

She raised her head, her gaze sharp, her resolve steeled.

"Yes. I'm ready."

"Very good. I wish you the best of luck."

With that, Draco raised his hand.

At once, the room plunged into darkness.

The glowing crystal orbs vanished. Silence fell like a heavy curtain. Then, one by one, candles lining the walls flickered to life, casting dancing shadows across the chamber.

Only two sources of light remained: the soft glow of the candles… and the pulsing magic circle beneath Emilia's feet.

Now, she stood tall in its center, breathing slow and deep, her fingers curled at her sides as she gathered her focus, her eyes blazed with determination.

Fuuuu~

A deep exhale.

"Alright," she whispered to herself. "Here I go."

Everyone held their breath.

And then, she began to chant.

The summoning circle lit up with radiant energy.
