Chapter 2598 - 5773

Chapter 5773: Pathological

It had been in the Lower Star Domain for so long, and it finally evolved into a spirit snake. Now, the opponent suddenly summoned a sacred beast, a fire-breathing dragon. What was going on?? Could the Lower Star Domain tolerate the existence of such a thing? Was the old fellow, the Heavenly Dao, dead or crippled? Why didn't he show up and say something just?

"Roar!" A furious flame spewed onto the giant python's coiled body. The giant python didn't even have time to flee before it was completely ignited by the enraged fire, hissing and screaming as it rolled back and forth on the ground.

Mo Yu dragged Qiao Lin back a few steps, watching coldly as the python's tail thrashed, kicking up dust. Qiao Lin couldn't help but shake her head. "Sigh." Couldn't it just live peacefully? Why did it have to come out and scare people?

"Ow." After a roar, the strange person they had seen before suddenly jumped down from the second floor of the small building. He was holding a broom, desperately trying to beat the snake's body. Unfortunately, the sacred beast's dragon flame was not so easy to extinguish. No matter how much he beat it, the ignited flames mercilessly consumed the python's body inch by inch. In just a short while, the large python was swallowed by the flames.

The strange person roared, then suddenly turned his head, his single eye glowing with a sinister cold light, glaring fiercely at her and Mo Yu.

"You provoked us first, so you can't blame anyone else," Qiao Lin said coldly and flatly. If this strange person hadn't secretly used a grappling hook to snatch people from their team and then released a python to bite them, how would this python have been easily dealt with by them? Now he was glaring at them with such hateful eyes, as if they had done something wrong, which was laughable.

Mo Yu's hand extended a faintly colored long sword. "No need to say anything more to him. Look at him; he should be a half-mutated corpse puppet."

"But for some unknown reason, he seems to retain a trace of human consciousness."

"Kill him," Mo Yu said. As soon as his words fell, the fire-breathing dragon clawed towards the strange person. Mo Yu raised his hand, and he swiftly darted in front of the giant dragon. "Leave him to me." With that, he recalled the fire-breathing dragon. His long sword flashed, and in a breath, he was already close to the strange person.

"Clang!" A sword struck the strange person's skin, as if cutting a thin metal vessel. Little Lin blinked and ran closer to watch the two quickly exchange dozens of blows. It was clear that the strange person was being forced to retreat step by step by Mo Yu.

"You go in and take a look first," Mo Yu gestured towards the small building. Qiao Lin understood and nodded. She flashed past the two of them and headed straight for the small building. This action seemed to infuriate the strange person. Qiao Lin heard a roar from behind her, but the sound quickly ceased.

Qiao Lin turned to look and saw the strange person's half-scorched, blackened face twisted in pain, his single eye glaring fixedly at her. Qiao Lin ignored his venomous gaze and flew directly into the small building.

However, she heard a suppressed roar beside her ear. Qiao Lin's arm was covered with a water spirit shield, and she directly raised her arm to block. "Clang." The opponent's iron-hard claw struck the outside of her water spirit shield and was quickly deflected.

Qiao Lin turned to look, and her scalp almost exploded. She saw a ghastly, ghost-like corpse puppet swaying behind her, its face covered in putrid flesh, making it impossible to discern its features. From its form, it appeared to be a woman. Her entire body was in tatters, with strips of ragged cloth hanging on her. One of her arms was unnaturally twisted due to the reverse shock force from Qiao Lin's water spirit shield.

The Pathological Collector

Qiao Lin took a deep breath, subconsciously taking two steps back. It wasn't that she was afraid of this high-level corpse puppet; it was simply that the corpse puppet emitted a rotten stench, and the smell was too pungent. She instinctively wanted to run far away, preferably to a place where she couldn't smell it.

The female corpse puppet roared and then lunged towards Qiao Lin again. This time, Qiao Lin was prepared and would not let it strike her body. As the female corpse puppet lunged, Qiao Lin dodged sideways, simultaneously throwing a spirit energy ball. The spirit energy directly hit the corpse puppet's face and exploded with a bang.

After a massive shock, the strange person's mournful roar came from outside.

With a thunderous crash, Qiao Lin turned her head and saw the strange person kicked by Mo Yu from outside the door, tumbling in like a gourd, hitting a table leg, and then crashing heavily against a low cabinet on the opposite side. A pile of chaotic items on the low cabinet tumbled down, clattering, and half the cabinet slammed heavily onto the strange person's body. For a moment, the air solidified, and all sounds completely ceased.

Little Lin looked at the dying strange person, who was pinned under the low cabinet on the ground, with a serious expression. She then turned to look at the female corpse puppet whose head had exploded from the impact of the spirit energy ball, its entire head blown off. The crude and direct method of a "headshot" had naturally killed the female corpse puppet. It was utterly dead, with no possibility of revival.

Qiao Lin, with a disgusted expression, leaned closer to Mo Yu, who was approaching quickly. Mo Yu's face was also very grim.

"I didn't expect a female corpse puppet to be hiding in here. How are you? Were you attacked?"

"No," Qiao Lin said with a disgusted look, vigorously waving her small hand. "The smell is too awful. Let's get out of here quickly."

"Wait," Mo Yu grabbed her hand. "First, shield your five senses. Let's go upstairs and take a look." The two went to the second floor of the wooden building and were both startled. Qiao Lin even turned around and rushed out of the wooden building, finding a random spot to vomit.

The upstairs looked like a large slaughterhouse, with strips of dried meat hanging from the rafters, permeated with a disgusting, bloody smell.

Mo Yu's face was grim. He dragged the dying strange person out of the wooden building and threw him heavily to the ground. After a heavy thud, the strange person struggled to raise his head, his gaze cold and sinister as he stared at the two.

"You killed my wife. You deserve to die."

"You're the one who deserves to die!" Qiao Lin was furious. She went up and savagely kicked him on the head. Madman, he's truly a madman! To keep his wife, he actually turned everyone who passed through the village into food for the female corpse puppet, storing them upstairs.

What a pathological person! And to capture this "food," this half-human, half-ghost creature even designed a set of grappling hooks and similar tools, capable of directly snatching people from the mist without any effort. If they encountered experts like mystic masters, they would face resistance, but with that spirit beast python around, resistance would likely be futile. If they encountered ordinary villagers passing by, capturing this "food" would be as easy as taking something out of a bag.

"What do you know? What do you understand?"

"My wife is the best woman in this world." The strange person lay on the ground, roaring angrily, but he was at the end of his rope, spitting large mouthfuls of blood as he spoke.
