The Open Seal

"WAKE UP, NARUTOOOOO!"

"Someone is calling me… I can feel something warm pressing against me… are they trying to burn me again?" Naruto mumbled as he stirred.

"It's me, Naruto-kun! You have to wake up!" Hinata cried. "You can't give up. We're going to be okay—just keep fighting a little longer. I believe in us!"

"Oh… it's a girl. Why's she crying? I remember her face… she's never hurt me. What is she doing here? Doesn't she know people will hate her too?" Naruto thought as his senses returned. "What is this cocoon? Why is she holding me? Only family does that."

"Naruto! You're awake! Thank kami! Now you need to break free of this cocoon so we can heal you!" Hinata said, stuttering.

"Why? Why help me? Why hold me like this? No one wants me… why care? Are you trying to hurt me?" Naruto asked.

"No! Na-Naruto-kun, I could never hurt you!" Hinata sobbed. "I care about you—you're special to me. Everything's been hard, but we'll be safe where people won't hurt you. Please trust me."

With Hinata's help, Naruto emerged from the cocoon. His eyes adjusted, and he recognized Hinata—the shy, polite girl beaten by her clan.

"Where are we?" he asked.

"Hey, little brotha," came Killer Bee's voice. "We're in your mindscape—I'm Killer Bee, partner to the Hachibi. We're where the seal holds the Kyubi!"

"A-aah… Who's this weirdo? Hinata, stay behind me—there's a strange ninja here!"

"Na-Naruto-kun remembered my name! I'm so happy!" Hinata exclaimed.

"Calm down—Bee-sama is a friend. Both of you house bijū—same as me and the Hachibi."

"Whaaaaaaat? NO WAY! THE FOX IS DEAD! THE FOURTH HOKAGE KILLED HIM, RIGHT!?"

Then a voice thundered from behind a metal cage.

"I am very much alive. You have mistaken death with sealing," the Kyūbi corrected, its voice firm. "We are in your mindscape, where the seal binds me. You're here because I permitted it. Your body is merely a vessel—a projection. Your soul created this form. And I cannot be killed. That night—eight years ago—I was sealed inside you by your idolized Fourth Hokage."

"So that's why everyone hates me?" Naruto realized sadly.

"Yes—they're too dumb to distinguish the prisoner from the prison."

"Why me?"

"Because you're different. My chakra is denser, stronger. I can't be sealed in ordinary objects, nor in someone with developed chakra. Only a young child—or an Uzumaki, willing—can contain me. When that genjutsu drove me mad and I lashed out… it was Minato who sealed me within you. That was the promise made to your mother: to protect you. But the seal was too tight. I couldn't guide you—only heal you. I was meant to be your godmother, to lull you to sleep, to care for you like kin…"

"You knew my mother?"

"Of course. I was sealed inside her too. She and I were like sisters."

"Where is she? Did she love me?" Naruto's voice trembled.

"Your parents are gone. A jinchūriki loses their bijū, they perish. They loved you deeply. The mask in the dark night ripped me from her womb, but Minato sealed me in you. He split me in two, hoping you'd learn to wield chakra better—and so the masked man couldn't take me. Step close—I'll show you."

Tail-wrapped, Naruto, Hinata, and Bee took in the traumatic memories of that night.

"How could no one know the truth? Naruto's a hero like his father!" Hinata cried.

"Hokage and Konoha kept it secret to protect him. But ignorance is the real enemy," Bee said.

"Humans love scapegoats. Blow at the seal, they'll turn anger at you instead," Kyūbi growled. "But now—break free. I'll reshape your body, heal you, seal more fairly. But changes will come—you must understand."

Naruto asked with hesitation, "Will you still—accept me after it?"

"Of course, little brotha!" Bee responded.

"I will always be with you, Naruto-kun… because I love you." Hinata's cheeks glowed brighter than ever.

"She… loves me?" Naruto whispered in shock.

"You'll have time to sort that out. Now—seize the seal," Kyūbi commanded.

Naruto pulled apart the cage seal like puzzle pieces. Bright light filled the mindscape. When it faded, two ethereal figures appeared.

"I was right—you resealed chakra backups," the Kyūbi snarled.

A clear voice spoke: "Naruto, why did you break the seal?"

The female spirit added, "What's happening, Kyu-chan?"

"Your idiot mate happened!" the fox roared. "He bound me too tight! We almost died. Now watch!"

In that moment, Minato and Kushina were overwhelmed by their son's memories—wrenching truths of pain and betrayal.

"Hiruzen, Jiraiya, Tsunade… Hyūga… none of it was the plan," Minato whispered, stunned.

"I'll fuse with Naruto to stabilize him," the Kyūbi declared. "Minato: regulate chakra. Kushina: draw the new seal. Say your goodbyes."

A chakra cocoon formed around Naruto as Bee nodded with graditude. "Killer Bee, jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails and fellow shinobi. Take care of them." said Minato.

"Of course," Bee replied solemnly. "Kumo will respect them as people, not weapons."

Kushina laughed at shy, crimson-faced Hinata. "Oh sugar, call me Ka‑chan!" Her warmth made Hinata blush even harder.

They finished the seal. Kushina held Hinata.

"I'm sorry for your pain," she said. "Hitomi was my best friend. If you love Naruto… you have my blessing—my daughter."

Hinata, eyes brimming, confessed: "I love Naruto. I admire his will. I want a future with him—marriage and to give him a big family."

"Babies, huh?" Kushina teased. "Fine mate you are!" Kyūbi laughed.

"I'll give you a chakra cloak—three tails' worth," Kyūbi announced. "I'll form a bond with you to watch over him."

After the Transformation

Hours later, Naruto emerged—changed. Feminine features and both male and female anatomy. Golden-furred fox tail. Elongated ears and sapphire eyes with slitted pupils.

Kushina embraced him gently. "My child… I love you so much."

Tears flowed. "I thought you abandoned me."

"NO! I would never abandon you! Don't ever think that, okay Naruko?" Kushina said, voice trembling. "But Bee, Hinata, and Kyu-chan will be with you. My memories and jutsu will stay with you. I'm sorry I can't stay with you." Kushina pulls Naruko into a hug before pulling away with tears in her eyes.

Minato smiled lightly and ruffled Naruko's hair. "I'm sorry. I did what I thought best—for you and Konoha."

"Father, I forgive you. I may become Raikage, not Hokage," Naruko smiled through tears.

They glowed softly until they faded. Kyūbi's voice echoed:

"Be true. Protect your people. Remember your Uzumaki lineage. You have a family that loves you."

Naruko wept, holding Hinata. "Ka‑chan… thank you."

Back in Reality

Kyūbi's voice echoed: "Now, I teach you Full Henge—transform fully into a normal human form. Any questions?"

Naruko yawned. "Uh… why is Hinata unconscious?"

"Because you're an idiot if you haven't realized she's absolutely in love with you!" Kyūbi chided. "She's been stalking you since you saved her from school bullies four years ago—she's been in love for years."

Naruko blinked in disbelief. "I'm… an idiot?"

"Yes," Kyūbi laughed. "But you're our idiot. Now pay attention."
