Karena turned her back to him, leaving him with only her silhouette.
Her gesture seemed to say: Since you've already aligned yourself with the Yukino Family, why are you even here? My illness is none of your concern now, is it?
It was clear that Karena was acting out of spite, fueled by hurt feelings.
"Karena, about the matchmaking arrangement with Haruno... it was all my mother's doing, not my own desire," Roland quickly explained, knowing the root of her anger.
Unfortunately, Karena refused to accept his explanation. Or perhaps she wasn't looking for excuses at all, but something more tangible. She remained motionless, her back still turned, showing no interest in hearing his justifications.
Roland felt helpless. It seemed that unless he made a clear declaration of his feelings, Karena might never speak to him again.
Left with no other choice, Roland took off his shoes and skillfully slipped under the covers, gently embracing her from behind.
