Despite her nonsense, I couldn't harden my heart. Even though we had been together for over a year, she had indeed changed a lot for me.
I was not a magnanimous man, but I was not petty either. She had already gone this far; if I kept holding grudges, I'd be truly narrow-minded.
"Forget the hospital. I'll check myself sometime."
She blushed. "You set the time."
Tonight was definitely out of the question. I said, "Maybe tomorrow or the day after."
"Can you add me back now?"
I took out my phone and accepted her friend request. She smiled with relief. I said, "If this happens again, I'll block you."
"You're so petty and overbearing!"
"It's you who is foolish. If I don't respond on Facebook, can't you call me?"
I snorted. "I'm heading down. I have something to do this afternoon, and I might not make it back!"
"Are you going with Mia again?"
"Yeah."
"Ms. Smith gave me a task. I need to complete it as soon as possible. I'm leaving!"
"Wait a minute!"
"What now?"
