Chapter 39 - Chapter 39- The Trials Begin

The courtyard shimmered in golden light as the great silver dragon form of Rhiannan descended from the sky, wings folding in a slow, deliberate sweep. Her claws touched down with grace, but her knees buckled as she shifted back to her fae form, naked, trembling, and drenched in silent tears.

Her five mates were already sprinting toward her.

Elisha caught her first, lifting her off the stone as if she weighed nothing, wrapping her in the warmth of his fire touched arms. Kaleb skidded to a stop beside them, hands on her cheeks, kissing her forehead and murmuring her name over and over. Arwen, Sable, and Liam crowded close, each of them touching, anchoring, surrounding her.

"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I just needed to be alone for a second... but I need you now. I need all of you."

Elisha didn't speak, he just carried her straight into the castle. They moved as a unit, storming through the halls like a pack on a mission. Servants flushed and turned away, fanning themselves as they passed. No one dared stop them.

The door to their shared chamber slammed shut behind them, and the moment it did, Rhiannan was already being laid down gently on the massive bed.

Clothes flew.

Hands touched every inch of her body, reverent and desperate. Elisha's fingers stroked through her soft auburn waves as he kissed her with slow hunger, his golden eyes glowing with restraint. Kaleb's hands moved down her spine, pressing kisses to her shoulder blades. Liam was at her feet, worshiping the curves of her thighs like she was the goddess she was.

Sable hovered over her with a wicked smirk, brushing her tears away with a clawed finger. "Time to make our goddess forget everything but us."

They took their time.

Sable's demon hands pinned her wrists gently as his tongue flicked between her folds, groaning when he tasted her arousal. Liam kissed her deeply while Kaleb's fingers found her slick entrance, sliding in with slow, deliberate strokes. She moaned into Liam's mouth as another set of fingers joined from behind...Arwen.

Rhiannan moaned lustily, licking her lips slowly. "I need this so bad."

"So greedy for us," Arwen murmured against her ear, his breath sending shivers through her. "You missed us that bad, didn't you?"

Rhiannan gasped. "Yes... please." She needed this more than anything.

Elisha moved behind her, twin cocks hard and ready. He teased her rim with one, rubbing slow circles while Arwen guided his into her soaked center.

She cried out as both were filled, mouth on Liam's cock, pussy clenching around Arwen, ass slowly stretching around Elisha's thick girth.

Sable growled, watching her take them with awe and possessiveness.

"Our goddess can take it all. Look at her."

Her moans echoed in the chamber, every sound laced with desperation and pleasure. Fingers pumping, tongues swirling, lips sucking bruises into her skin. Elisha whispered praise into her neck. Kaleb bit her inner thigh possessively. Arwen lost control and slammed deeper. Liam tangled fingers in her hair as she sucked him harder.

It was chaos. Pure, filthy, perfect chaos.

She shattered first, her body tensing as a blinding orgasm ripped through her, triggering a chain reaction. Arwen spilled into her with a growl. Elisha snarled as he came deep, his hands gripping her hips with reverence. Liam choked out her name, releasing into her throat. Kaleb and Sable followed, each taking their turn to worship her with slow thrusts and unrelenting passion until she was shaking, trembling, and wrecked.

They collapsed around her, forming a protective cocoon of flesh and magic and love. Elisha tucked her against his chest. Liam stroked her hair. Kaleb held her hand. Sable kissed her temple. Arwen whispered promises in her ear.

And for the first time in days, Rhiannan felt peace.

They were hers.

She was theirs.

And nothing, not fate, not gods, not even the entity...was going to tear them apart.

Morning light spilled over the Dragon Castle like honey, warming the stone walls and glittering across the silver tipped banners that now proudly bore Rhiannan's crest. Inside the grand dining hall, breakfast was in full chaos.

Mo, perched on Rhiannan's shoulder, was already double fisting two buttered rolls. "Y'all ready to traumatize some people? I am. I can't wait to watch someone piss themselves in that hedge maze." He licked jam off his fingers. "Do we get to vote on who dies first?"

"Mo," Rhiannan said, sipping her coffee with a smirk. "You're gonna get me cancelled."

"You're the goddess," Mo whispered back. "You can't get cancelled."

The six were gathered around the massive obsidian table, forks clinking, armor half buttoned, magic humming in the air. Plates of faeberry jelly slathered French toast, spiced meat, fresh fruit, and enchanted tea floated around the room, courtesy of Sasha and the castle mages.

Rhiannan stood slowly and turned to the floating rune camera that had been recording since she walked in.

Time to make shit official.

She cleared her throat, glowing faintly from within as divine power danced over her skin. "To the people of the realm…" she said, voice amplified magically across every rune linked Faenet crystal in existence. "It's time."

The table went still. Even Mo sat up straight, licking his tiny hands clean.

"I've received a vision," she continued. "Straight from the goddess herself. The Sentry Trials will begin in one week, on the night of the double full moons."

The castle practically shook with the sound of Faenet exploding in real time.

👤 @CaptainFeralPants: THE TRIALS ARE REAL???? I THOUGHT IT WAS A MYTH

👤@DaggerDaddy420: I volunteer as tribute. I'm ready to throw hands with a basilisk if it gets me near Rhiannan 😭

👤@WitchPlease69: Please say Mo will be the commentator. I need him narrating my death in the maze.

👤@BlessedByTheGoddess: If I survive this trial and become immortal, I will literally never stop screaming.

"Survival will be key," Rhiannan continued. "The first trial is a maze. Not just any maze. A massive, twisted hedge beast of a labyrinth created by our very own castle mages. Think… Harry Potter, but if Voldemort and the Minotaur had a love child. There will be traps. Magical creatures. Riddles. Chaos."

Mo raised his paw. "Can we add snakes that spit confusion spells?"

"Yes," Sasha's voice cut in from the crystal embedded in the wall. "I've added those. Also added teleporting vines, memory eating mushrooms, and one mildly unhinged banshee named Carol."

The room groaned. Arwen muttered, "Carol again? That bitch screams off-key."

"You'll need to register with Gailia and her twins," Rhiannan said, trying not to laugh. "They'll assign housing, food rations, gear, and armor. Sasha will keep track of all applicants and handle rune comms."

She ended the broadcast with a smile sharp as a dagger. "Good luck. May the fiercest win. And may the weak die quickly."

The screen blinked out.

Faenet went absolutely feral.

Later, post announcement...

The six sat back down, devouring their now cold breakfast. Rhiannan set her fork down and glanced at each of them. "There was more to the vision," she admitted. "Besides the trials."

The men straightened. Kaleb's wolf eyes sharpened, Sable's jaw clenched, and Elisha's wings twitched with tension.

"I was told…" she took a breath, "I can choose three beings to become divine sentries. Immortal, unless killed. Bound to protect me forever. Obviously what the trials are for."

"And?" Liam leaned in, voice low. "What aren't you telling us?"

She sighed. "A hint. About my sister. And a way to unmark Liam."

The table fell silent, the tension so thick you could slice it with Mo's banana blade.

"We'll face it," Elisha said. "One step at a time."

Rhiannan nodded slowly. "One trial at a time." She was so overwhelmed at this point. She wanted to save Liam so badly it made her chest hurt. Her need to protect her mates was fierce. She would protect him, or die trying.
