LUCIUS'S POV.
I could feel my blood boiling beneath my skin, my breath ragged, my vision turning red. My hand was still locked around Marissa's neck as she gasped for air, her nails clawing weakly at my wrist.
I didn't care one bit, all I could think about was the scream… Diana's scream is still echoing in my skull. That sound… It wasn't just pain, it was helplessness and fear. And all because of Marissa.
"How dare you?" I growled, my voice trembling with fury. "How dare you pour hot water on her face! She's just a maid! A harmless girl who's done nothing to you!"
Marissa's face was turning pale, her eyes bulging. She tried to speak, but only a hoarse whimper came out. My grip tightened unconsciously. "You should have thought of dying before hurting her," I hissed. "You are cruel, jealous…"
"Lucius, stop!"
