LUCIUS'S POV.
"She's dead," I heard Logan whisper hoarsely beside me. "I killed her."
His words struck through me like lightning. For a moment, everything around me went still the cold wind, at the same time, I wondered why I suddenly felt this way towards the maid.
I stared at her lifeless body for some time as my hand was still on her cheek, my fingers trembling against her pale skin. The girl's face was motionless, and her lips parted slightly as if she had tried to say something before her last breath.
I turned my gaze to Logan. He sat on the ground a few feet away and his back was facing us, his head tilted toward the moon. His shoulders shook slightly as he kept repeating in a low, broken voice, "I killed her… I killed another…"
It wasn't the tone of a boast,it was a voice filled with grief. But it didn't matter to me as my chest burned with something I couldn't contain, it was rage.
I looked back at Diana.
