Qin Yue was taken aback; she hadn't expected her son to be the one ringing the doorbell.
"Little Fan, how come you're here?"
After a pause of about two to three seconds, Qin Yue opened her mouth, expressing a mix of surprise and joy.
In reality, the relationship between Qin Yue and Chen Yifan, her son, was not particularly good.
Even though she stopped working after giving birth to him and had been a stay-at-home mom all along, spending the most time with him daily, it didn't help much with developing their relationship positively.
Since Chen Yifan entered middle school and hit puberty, his whole personality changed. He barely communicated with his parents, not even with his usually talkative mother, Qin Yue.
Qin Yue believed that he was going through a rebellious phase that would pass with time. However, five years had gone by, and his personality remained unchanged.
His attitude towards her had become even more distant, sometimes not uttering a word for days on end.
In the divorce agreement last year, it was stipulated that Qin Yue and Chen Gang were joint custodians, and Chen Yifan alternated between living with Qin Yue and Chen Gang.
However, Chen Gang's residence was closer to the school, so Chen Yifan spent most of his time at his dad's place, with only a few occasions staying with Qin Yue.
Of course, it could also be because getting pocket money from Chen Gang was easier.
"My room has some issues with the walls that need to be fixed, so I'll be staying here for a couple of days."
Chen Yifan said lightly, his face almost expressionless.
Upon hearing his words, Qin Yue couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. She had thought her son remembered her birthday and had come specifically to greet her.
However, she quickly adjusted her mood and said, "Oh, I see. Come in quickly."
Chen Yifan remained silent, lifted the bag on his shoulder, and walked past Qin Yue into the house.
"By the way, why did you ring the doorbell? Didn't I give you a key?"
Qin Yue closed the door, walked back, and asked Chen Yifan, but he didn't turn to look at her.
He continued to walk inside absentmindedly and replied, "I don't know where I misplaced the key."
"Oh, I see. I'll give you another one later. By the way, Little Fan, have you eaten?"
"Yes, I have."
It seemed like Chen Yifan didn't want to talk to Qin Yue at all. Without waiting for her response, he entered the room and gently closed the door.
"Haah…" Qin Yue sighed, "It's been almost a month since we last saw each other, why is he still like this?"
Qin Yue seemed to have gotten used to Chen Yifan's attitude towards her, so she didn't think much of it.
She just glanced at the closed door of his room, then turned back towards the bathroom, took off the robe wrapped around her body, and prepared to continue bathing.
Just as Qin Yue placed the robe she had taken off to the side, unexpectedly, the bathroom door was pushed open with a bang.
Chen Yifan walked straight in from outside and saw her naked body!
