Chapter 8 - Taking over the company

In the most luxurious office of Visionary Company, Grant sat across from an elderly man in a black suit. The man exuded an air of sophistication and refinement in his every movement and gesture, befitting of a person of high status.

"Young Master Morgan, you finally agreed to see me," the elderly man spoke with excitement. His name was Old Master Foster, the same person who had intercepted Grant in his Rolls-Royce a few days ago. He was also one of the main executives of Morgan Family in the Jiangnan district.

The opulent decorations of the office and the elderly man's respectful address made Grant feel somewhat uncomfortable. He got straight to the point, "I came to ask for your help."

"Young Master Morgan, as long as you ask, Morgan Family will do everything in our power to assist you," Old Master Foster readily agreed.

Grant nodded, unsurprised by the response. "I need some money. As for how much, you can decide. Also, I want you to take care of something for me at our Jiangnan branch."

"Of course, no problem! As for the money, I'll talk to the old master and it should be in your account within ten minutes, barring any unforeseen circumstances," Old Master Foster replied without hesitation. "As for this company, the old master said it's a gift for you. Once you sign this contract, you can do whatever you want with the company, even sell it, and there won't be any issues." With that, Old Master Foster opened a drawer and took out a pre-written contract, handing it to Grant.

Of course, all of this was at the behest of the Morgan Family.

Grant quickly signed the contract.

Old Master Foster breathed a sigh of relief as he carefully placed the signed contract into his bag.

Then, he looked at Grant with great care and asked, "Young Master Morgan, the old master is not long for this world. He really wants to see you before he passes away..."

"My father?" Grant was taken aback and fell silent.

As one of the heirs to the Morgan Family, Grant was born to his mother at the age of forty. The family was under immense pressure, and even his own brothers were killing each other. At the time, his father was afraid he couldn't protect Grant, so he secretly arranged for someone to take Grant away from the Morgan Family.

Despite this, Grant was still caught while trying to escape.

His mother died tragically in order to protect Grant and leave, and at that time, Grant vowed to find the killer. Although he knew his father had his own difficulties, he still couldn't let go of his mother's death.

The feeling of being abandoned accompanied him for more than ten years in the military camp.

"I will go back," Grant said lightly, without saying more.

"Good, good..." Old Master Foster stood up excitedly when he heard Grant's agreement, his eyes red. He quickly picked up the phone and said, "I will inform the master right away."

Watching this scene, Grant couldn't help but turn his head and look out the window, feeling mixed emotions.

His father, whom he hadn't seen in over a decade, was still his father, with a blood relationship. Moreover, his father was seriously ill and couldn't hold on much longer. "After finishing up things here, I will go back and take a look," Grant decided, getting up to leave.

This time, he was simply going back to see his father. As for the financial resources and support of the Morgan Family, when a person has experienced death and gunfire, these external things are already difficult to influence him.

"Young Master Morgan, what was the task you assigned to Visionary Company? You haven't mentioned it yet!" Old Master Foster suddenly remembered something and asked from behind as he saw Grant about to leave.

"The task was to change the contract between Visionary Company and James Family. My wife Daisy is in charge of it, and the new contract and proposal will be submitted by Jackson, who will come to the company in a few days," Grant replied slowly as he stepped out of the door.

"And my request is to kick him out when Jackson comes!" he added.

"Ding!"

As soon as Grant returned home, his phone rang, followed by a prompt message from his bank account.

"Your bank account has been credited with ten billion yuan."

Even though he was mentally prepared, seeing the balance in his account still shocked Grant with the string of numbers.

"I only asked for some money, and you transferred ten billion yuan to me? Is ten billion just a small amount of money in your eyes?" Grant looked at his phone and couldn't help but smile bitterly. It seemed that the Morgan Family had become much stronger compared to when he left, and was now known as one of the four major wealthy families in Skylark City.

The small change in his pocket was worth more than the entire James Family.

In the days following the loss of the contract to Visionary Company, Lydia, Grant's mother-in-law, returned home each time with a sour expression on her face.

Meanwhile, Daisy's situation at the company became more and more precarious. She discovered that Jackson was constantly buying off high-level executives and selling stocks, trying to undermine her authority in the company.

Grant had not anticipated this. He had thought that after securing the contract, Jackson would immediately seek to collaborate with Visionary Company. He had not expected Jackson to target Daisy and try to completely crush her during the contract renegotiation.

However, Grant was not worried about taking over Visionary Company. The more greedy Jackson became, the harder he would fall in the end.

One day, Lydia returned home early with a beaming expression on her face, as if she had some good news. "Daughter, there is a banquet tonight, and I have many friends coming," she said to Daisy.

"A banquet?" Daisy was taken aback. She had never heard her mother mention it before.

"Yes, daughter, remember to dress up nicely. There will be important people coming tonight," Lydia nodded. Then, she glanced at Grant and her smile disappeared instantly. She spoke coldly, "You useless piece of trash, you're coming with us too!"

Grant nodded and continued to mop the floor.

"Is Grant coming too?" Daisy became even more confused. Her mother had always despised Grant, and after the hospital incident, she didn't let him accompany them to any gatherings. Did the sun rise from the west this time?

"We'll leave first. You can come later when you're done mopping the floor," Lydia said.

After finishing their makeup, Lydia held Daisy's hand and walked out of the room. When they reached the door, Lydia gave Grant a cold glance and snorted.

The location was quite far from their home, so Daisy hesitated for a moment and took out a hundred yuan from her bag, "Grant, if you can't make it, take a taxi."

"Why are you giving this useless person money? It's a waste! Let him run over here," Lydia slapped the money back onto the table.

"Oh, Mom, he's still my husband," Daisy said.

"Let me tell you, from today on, you're not allowed to call him your husband!" Lydia said.

The door slammed shut, but Grant continued to mop the floor, feeling a hint of warmth in his heart.

Although he had not yet been able to help Daisy in any way, and even Daisy did not believe that Grant had the ability to help her, their relationship had been gradually getting closer since then.
