Chapter 569 - 569 Twilight of the Gods

With the arrival of summer holidays, London's streets grew increasingly lively.

From a global perspective, Britain was likely the region with the most harmonious integration of Muggles and wizards, with both sides coexisting peacefully, generally refraining from interfering in each other's affairs.

Yet there were legitimate channels for those wishing to explore each other's worlds.

Muggles didn't need to worry about wizards harming them, and wizards didn't need to fear witch hunts.

In Britain, you could see wizards riding flying broomsticks, dutifully landing in parking spaces, and Muggles entering Diagon Alley to purchase hair-growth potions for cosmetic use before returning home.

Such scenes were rarely encountered elsewhere. While one might occasionally come across wizards flaunting their magic openly and recklessly, Muggles would typically steer clear of such situations.

Because they lacked a bridge like Wayne, who could facilitate communication between both sides.

Someone who could both curb wizards' condescending attitudes towards Muggles and prevent the government from issuing policies to hunt wizards.

Many tourists had heard of Diagon Alley's reputation and travelled specially from around the world to visit - not because their own countries lacked wizards, but simply because this place was sufficiently safe.

Consequently, the difficulty of obtaining UK visas had recently increased significantly.

In Brent, not long ago, this London suburb suddenly opened a brand-new castle-style haunted house. Due to its terrifying nature, it quickly gained popularity among thrill-seekers and became hugely successful.

Today, Wayne had specifically accompanied Tomoyo to experience it. After half an hour inside, the two emerged from the castle's exit with subtle expressions.

"How should I put it..." Tomoyo hesitated before speaking, "I never imagined vampires would have such natural advantages in this field. It's truly quite interesting."

"But do those Muggles know they're real vampires and ghouls?"

That's right - this haunted house was run by vampires.

The staff inside were all domesticated ghouls and hanged ghosts, with some vampires playing themselves without even needing makeup.

"Don't even mention the Muggles - I only just found out myself." Wayne's expression wasn't much better either.

When they entered earlier, a vampire had recognised him and immediately became so terrified that he wept profusely, kneeling on the ground and begging Wayne to spare his life.

Later, visitors thought Wayne had assaulted staff members and began pointing fingers at him.

Fortunately, a relatively composed vampire soon appeared, took the young one away, and apologised to Wayne and Tomoyo, presenting them with two lifetime VIP cards.

He has so many people in his Lawrence family - is giving only two cards looking down on him?

Just kidding, just kidding.

Wayne didn't care about lifetime free passes. What surprised him was how far vampires had fallen.

He had killed all those vampires who followed Voldemort, and the remaining ones in Europe were essentially law-abiding citizens who usually followed the rules, so Wayne had no intention of wiping them out completely.

As long as they obeyed the rules, he wouldn't say anything even if they bought blood from blood banks - after all, in this country, anything could be bought with money.

After exiting, Wayne asked Tomoyo where she wanted to go next, but she shook her head.

"Didn't you arrange to have dinner with Potter tonight? Maybe we should just head back."

"It's only two o'clock, we still have the whole afternoon~" Wayne checked his watch. Since Tomoyo wasn't making suggestions, he decided, "Let's go to Harrods, buy some clothes before heading back."

The young lady narrowed her eyes and nodded with a smile.

...

Only when it was getting late did Wayne and Tomoyo return home carrying numerous shopping bags.

"Brother, you're back!" Ariana, who had been playing Wizard's Chess with Gabrielle, casually knocked over the opponent's king before skipping over to Wayne's side, making Gabrielle shout angrily about cheating.

But Ariana ignored her, circling the two instead. "You bought so many clothes! Are any for me?"

"Everyone gets something. Tomoyo picked them all out - her taste is much better than mine."

Wayne handed the bags over for Ariana to choose from. He had originally intended to store them in his extension pouch, but Tomoyo insisted that carrying shopping bags was part of the shopping experience, so he'd been holding them the whole time.

He wasn't particularly tired, mainly because Tomoyo shopped very efficiently, unlike some girls who could visit ten shops, try on a hundred items, and end up buying nothing.

That kind of shopping was truly exhausting.

Just as he sat down on the sofa, Gardevoir thoughtfully brought him a glass of water. Wayne smiled and patted her head, making Gardevoir blush before returning to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

At five minutes to seven, Harry arrived carrying a bag of desserts.

Usually, it was Wayne who visited him at Privet Drive, and later at Grimmauld Place - this was Harry's first time visiting Wayne's home.

At the same time, he felt somewhat puzzled about why Wayne had suddenly invited him over.

"Let's eat first, we can talk after dinner." Wayne didn't get straight to business, instead inviting Harry to sit down.

Only after the meal did he take Harry to the study.

"Harry, I heard you want to become Head Boy next semester?" Wayne asked, pushing a glass of lemon water toward him.

Harry was taken aback, not expecting Wayne to bring this up. He nodded somewhat sheepishly. "It's not that I particularly want to be Head Boy, but Sirius mentioned that becoming Head Boy would help with Auror selection. I really want to become an Auror."

"An excellent choice." Wayne nodded approvingly. "Your abilities are definitely up to standard, and your relationships with other students aren't poor - you're practically the leader of Gryffindor house."

"Actually, Dumbledore should have made you a Prefect in fifth year, but you were carrying too much responsibility at the time, so he chose Ron instead."

Harry quickly defended his best friend. "Ron did quite well, too."

"Adequate," Wayne said noncommittally. Being a Prefect didn't require exceptional qualities anyway, and Ron's average abilities were sufficient for the role.

"I approve of your ambition, but there's one more test you need to complete."

"What test?" Harry perked up immediately.

"You're aware that many foreign wizards have been sneaking into Britain recently, aren't you?" Wayne asked, leaning against the armrest.

Harry nodded. "The Daily Prophet reports on it every day. Sirius and Lupin caught several just recently - all tribal wizards."

"Then this should be straightforward." Wayne leaned forward, writing something on a piece of parchment on the desk.

"I'll write you a permit. Go see Crouch and have him assign you to the task force. You have one summer - well, not even that long now - one month to capture three tribal wizards."

"What about the Head Boy position..." Harry asked tentatively, showing no fear.

"What Head Boy?" Wayne looked up discontentedly. Just as Harry was feeling dejected, Wayne continued: "If you accomplish this, I can make you a full Auror directly, though you'll still need to complete three months of systematic training."

"Being an Auror isn't just about fighting ability - you need to master various professional skills too."

Harry wasn't listening anymore, completely captivated by the temptation of becoming a full Auror.

Seeing him like this, Wayne didn't say anything more, offered a couple more empty promises, and sent him on his way.

Harry was Wayne's chosen candidate for Head of the Auror Office. The strong sense of responsibility that came with his protagonist status made him naturally suited for the position.

With his rich practical experience, steady nerves from witnessing numerous major events, plus the training he'd received from Grindelwald...

To put it bluntly, Harry's current abilities meant that even combat specialists like Sirius or Lupin might not necessarily defeat him - he could truly be called Hogwarts' top warrior.

Wayne remembered from the original timeline that Harry had become Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as an adult, indicating he also possessed managerial talent.

Better to start cultivating him early - the Ministry of Magic would be short-staffed in the coming years.

"He's gone now. Why are you still hiding?" Wayne looked toward the door and said, seemingly to no one.

Several seconds later, a light laugh sounded as Ariana dispelled her Disillusionment Charm and happily ran to Wayne's side, hugging his arm.

"Wayne, I want to do an internship at the Ministry too, hunting tribal wizards."

"Don't cause trouble. Harry's only interning because he graduates next year - you still have two years to go."

"But I've got nothing to do during summer break either." Ariana sighed. "I've learned so many spells from you, but have nowhere to use them, and... it wants to move around too, it's been protesting to me every day recently."

"You can't control it?" Wayne frowned slightly.

"No." Ariana shook her head. "The Obscurus is very obedient, we're like friends now. Since we're friends, I want to fulfil its wishes."

After all, it was still a dark creature. Though now tamed, its thirst for killing remained.

"Wayne, please let me go." Ariana began wheedling again.

Wayne's arm grew sore from her shaking until he finally relented: "Fine, you can go. But you must remember - you can't use the Killing Curse casually, try to capture them alive whenever possible."

"Ah? Well... I'll try my best." Ariana nodded reluctantly.

"Not 'try' - you must," Wayne emphasised. "I'll have someone keep an eye on you. If you kill anyone indiscriminately, you'll come back immediately and won't be allowed out to cause trouble anymore."

He realised he might have raised Ariana wrong.

Apart from the Killing Curse and Fiendfyre, she showed little interest in other spells. Her Avada Kedavra chain lightning could now strike five people at once, yet her transfiguration skills remained at an ordinary fifth or sixth-year level.

Perhaps this was a side effect of death. Though Ariana usually appeared well-behaved... fundamentally, her disregard for life worried even Wayne.

After establishing strict rules, Ariana got her wish and received a letter of introduction, reporting to the Ministry of Magic the next day.

The only thing that dissatisfied her was that Wayne only agreed to a one-month internship.

But Ariana didn't know that in one month, there would be no more divine realm left to need her services.

In late July, with Vandros of Nibelung breaking through to the Legend rank, the six divine realms finally gathered thirteen Legends, gaining immense confidence.

Among them were three from the Olympus Divine Realm: Poseidon, Zeus, and Queen Hera, with Slytherin remaining hidden.

Two dragons from Nibelung: Orynix and Vandros.

Three from the Asgard Divine Realm: Odin, Heimdall, and Thor.

Two from the Aztlan Divine Realm: Quetzalcoatl and Illapa.

Two from Takamagahara: Amaterasu and Susano'o.

Due to its unique nature, the Jannah Divine Realm had only one Legend—Allah—but, wielding a divine artefact, his strength far surpassed that of ordinary Legends, and no one dared to underestimate them.

They refused to believe that Lawrence could be powerful enough to confront thirteen peers single-handedly, especially when many among them possessed formidable divine artefacts.

Thus, under Zeus's command, tribal wizards grew restless again, wantonly invading the territories of the Modern Magic Alliance. They not only provoked wizards but also engaged in several large-scale conflicts with Muggles.

Subsequently, Poseidon destroyed fifty fishing boats in the Atlantic as a declaration of war, delivered to Britain.

"Lawrence, I am right here. Do you dare come?"

The next day, Wayne responded.

"Three days hence, Ragnarok."
