Chapter 5 - 005 Can You Fix My Computer?

Although Uesugi Kazuki suspected there was something wrong with this world, on second thought, he was currently in Tokyo, and everything suddenly seemed to become normal.

After all, Tokyo was such a fantastical place that no matter what happened, even if a deep-sea ship girl crawled out of Tokyo Bay, he'd only need to face it with a smile.

After understanding this point, from then on, no matter if Uesugi Kazuki saw cars shaking even though no one was visible, or heard buzzing sounds from dark alleys,

Uesugi Kazuki simply ignored what he shouldn't see and didn't listen to what he shouldn't hear, walking away with a dismissive attitude.

The system had already told him, "Oh, it's nothing, the probability is zero," so it would be impolite if he couldn't control his curiosity now.

Although Uesugi Kazuki restrained his curiosity, preventing himself from triggering those strange events,

Even though the journey was a bit long, after controlling his curiosity, Uesugi Kazuki still returned to his home in Mimoku-cho before the overtime office workers finished their shifts.

Just like in the morning, as Uesugi Kazuki approached his two-story detached house,

He saw his neighbor, Shimada Anri, the wife from next door, emerge from her house again, wearing a light blue sweater and a light purple sheer skirt, accompanied by the crisp click-clack of high heels.

September in Tokyo was clearly not the season for sweaters, so Mrs. Shimada's sweater evidently took the seasonal characteristics into account.

Therefore, it didn't focus on warmth like other sweaters, but rather ventured down an unexpected path.

It had three slits—one horizontal and two vertical—at the front, ensuring excellent breathability.

However, for an ordinary woman, this sweater might just offer good breathability.

But worn by the rich and generous Mrs. Shimada Anri, this originally unremarkable sweater somehow exuded the effect of battle-ready attire.

Even Uesugi Kazuki, who had just encountered the trench coat woman and the dog-walking duo, was instantly captivated by Shimada Anri before him, unable to look away.

"Kazuki-kun, you're back so late today. Did you go to cram school?"

Shimada Anri walked up to Uesugi Kazuki, extended her right hand, and tucked her hair behind her ear, revealing her swan-like long neck and the delicate collarbones peeking out from the neckline of her sweater.

She asked Uesugi Kazuki, as if she wasn't the one who had hung the lace thong on the door earlier that morning.

"I went to my part-time job. Mrs. Shimada, why are you going out so late? Is Mr. Shimada not home?"

To say he wasn't tempted by Mrs. Shimada was definitely a lie.

However, the lingering phantom pain in his lower back was also reminding Uesugi Kazuki not to do things he shouldn't.

"He's still working overtime. My computer broke, and I wanted to go out and find someone to fix it. Kazuki-kun, if you're free, could you help me with it?"

Shimada Anri, who had been met with a polite refusal by Uesugi Kazuki, not only didn't get angry or embarrassed, but instead extended an invitation to him.

"My husband won't be back until who-knows-when tonight. If you can fix my computer, the compensation can be discussed however you like~"

As Shimada Anri spoke, she slightly pulled down her neckline and waved her hand as if the weather was too hot to bear.

Uesugi Kazuki didn't know how much cooler Shimada Anri would get from that gentle wave of her hand.

But as Shimada Anri fanned herself, Uesugi Kazuki felt that Tokyo was indeed very hot today.

Just as Uesugi Kazuki was unsure what to say, Uesugi Riko's voice suddenly came from nearby.

"Kazuki-kun, why are you home so late today?"

As Uesugi Riko's voice sounded, she quickly walked over, wearing a black body-hugging dress and an apron that Uesugi Kazuki was very familiar with.

She then partly shielded Uesugi Kazuki with her body before looking at Shimada Anri, who had released her hand from her neckline, and asked,

"Mrs. Shimada, is there something you need with Kazuki-kun at this hour?"

Facing Uesugi Riko, who was acting like a protective hen, shielding Uesugi Kazuki behind her, Shimada Anri smiled slightly.

"Oh dear~ Mrs. Uesugi, there's no need to be so agitated. My computer at home just broke, and I wanted to find someone to help fix it. I happened to run into Kazuki-kun, so I just asked if he knew how to fix computers..."

"Kazuki still has homework to do today, I'm sorry he can't help you."

Uesugi Riko interrupted Shimada Anri before she could finish.

"That's truly a shame. My computer at home always breaks. Perhaps Kazuki-kun can come over sometime when he's free to take a look. For now, I'll take my leave."

"Walk safely."

As Shimada Anri left with cat-like steps, accompanied by the "click-clack~" of her high heels,

The atmosphere between Uesugi Kazuki and Uesugi Riko grew awkward.

"Um... Kazuki-kun, dinner is ready."

"Oh."

Back home, the food on the dining table in the living room clearly showed effort from its appearance, but now the dishes had long since grown cold while waiting.

Uesugi Riko didn't ask Uesugi Kazuki why he was so late today. She simply refilled his bowl in awkward silence.

And reheated the cold dishes in the microwave.

The taste and texture of the reheated dishes were clearly not comparable to when they were fresh out of the pan, and the atmosphere between the two was as awkward as the cold dishes on the table.

Finally, after Uesugi Kazuki had eaten most of the rice in his bowl, Uesugi Riko gathered her courage and asked him,

"Kazuki-kun, why were you so late coming home today?"

"I went to my part-time job."

"Part-time job? Do you not have enough allowance? I can give you more allowance if you need it."

Looking at Uesugi Riko, Uesugi Kazuki's mind instantly recalled the Uesugi Riko who had let him have his way before his last death.

But then, seeing the apron she wore over her chest, the phantom pain in his lower back quickly reminded Uesugi Kazuki of the utterly unreasonable bloody end he'd met last time.

In an instant, the romantic thoughts in his mind vanished again.

"No, it's fine. I want to earn some money from a part-time job and then move out. I'm done eating."

Putting down his chopsticks and bowl, Uesugi Kazuki left Uesugi Riko, who looked as if she'd been struck by lightning, and turned to go upstairs to his room.

However, once back in his room, Uesugi Kazuki didn't start doing homework or lie down on his bed to rest.

Instead, he began rummaging through his room, wanting to see if the original owner was a decent person and if he had a habit of keeping a diary or anything.

After a quick search, Uesugi Kazuki found a diary underneath a few magazines, which were quite normal to find under a male high school student's bed, tucked away under his own bed.

Opening the first page of the diary, Uesugi Kazuki's pupils dilated as he read the contents.

Written in on the diary was: [Hahahaha, I can't believe I transmigrated too, this is awesome!]
