Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

As they approached her room, a doctor greeted them and said, "Congratulations! Mrs. Valarie will be discharged tomorrow".

Bella smiled brightly at the good news, then entered her mother's room. "Hi, Mom! How are you doing?"

she called out. Mrs. Valarie beamed at their visit, "I'm doing well, dear! And it's lovely to see you with this handsome young man.

"Look who's back, darling!" her mom, Mrs. Valerie, exclaimed with a playful grin. "So, what's happening between you two? Spill the tea!"

Clark responded with his signature warm smile, "Good day, Mrs. Valerie! Thankful for your health".

Bella couldn't contain her joy as she announced, "Mom, we're officially dating!" Mrs. Valerie's eyes sparkled with delight. "How wonderful! Tell me everything! How long has this been going on?"

As Bella shared the details, her mother showered them with love and blessings.

"May nothing come between your relationship!" they both expressed their gratitude, feeling touched by the support.

Then, Mrs. Valerie noticed the elegant gift in Clark's hands—a beautiful piece of jewelry and a stylish bag.

Her smile turned teary as she said, "I can't remember the last time someone spoiled me like this!"

Clark and Bella wrapped her in a heartfelt hug, assuring her that it was just the beginning of many more joyful moments.

Soon, Bella revealed her recent discharge from the hospital, prompting Mrs. Valerie to express her gratitude. "Without you, Clark, I wouldn't have made it! Thank you for your kindness."

Just as the evening was winding down, Clark's phone buzzed with a call from his dad. "Where are you, Clark? Your mom has been trying to reach you!" Clark assured his father he was on his way.

As the clock approached 11:00 PM, Bella and Clark stepped out of the hospital into the quiet night, anxiety creeping in. "Oh no, it's so late! How are we going to get home?" Bella exclaimed, her pulse quickening.

But Clark, ever calm, reassured her, "Don't worry! I'll call my driver." He dialed his dad, requesting the car to come pick them up. With a sense of adventure in the air, they waited together, knowing they were about to embark on a memorable

After waiting for a few hours, a group of boys who seemed a bit intoxicated walked by, and Bella caught their attention with her effortless beauty. One of the boys called out, "Hey, you damsel! What's up? Is that your brother?"

The group laughed, which made Clark quite upset.

As one of the boys approached Bella, attempting to touch her, Clark stepped in and pushed him away. The situation was about to escalate, and Bella, not wanting Clark to get into trouble because of her, decided to play along with the boys.

She said, "Oh, it's you guys again! What a coincidence!"

The boys were confused and didn't understand what she meant. When Clark asked her if she knew them, Bella replied, "Yes, they are my customers." One of the boys questioned her, "Who are your customers? We've never met you before."

They seemed to think she was implying something unsavory, and one boy jokingly remarked, "Well, we haven't slept with you before. How do you know us?" Clark looked puzzled at their comment, and Bella, feeling flustered, responded, "Oh, I would never say such a thing!"

Before she could clarify, Clark's driver pulled up and said, "Boss, come in!" Bella silently thanked the driver for arriving just in time; otherwise, Clark might have found himself in a tough spot.

Once inside the car, they drove off. Clark dropped Bella off at home, and as she stepped out, she noticed Luke washing outside. He rushed over and asked, "Sister, why are you coming back so late? Who was that flashy car that dropped you?" Bella replied, "What are you doing outside at this hour? Let's go inside and talk."

Once inside, Kira and Joan rushed to hug her, and Luke expressed his curiosity about who had dropped her off.

Bella responded, "The person who dropped me was Clark, my proposed boyfriend." Kira gasped and asked, "Oh, why didn't he come in?" Bella explained that he was with his driver.

She then mentioned that their mom would be discharged tomorrow, and they should prepare a nice meal for her. Joan was thrilled, saying, "I can't wait to see Mum again."

Bella shared the gifts she had brought for everyone: a beautiful dress for Kira, a pair of shoes for Joan, and a canvas for Luke.

Kira asked how she managed to buy these, and Bella replied that it was from Clark, who also purchased gifts for their mom: jewelry and a bag. Luke exclaimed, "Wow, Clark is really an angel saving us!"

Meanwhile, at Clark's house, his father, Mr. Frank, was waiting for him, visibly upset. He asked, "Where have you been? I tried calling, but you didn't answer.

What's going on? Do you want to get us into trouble?" Mrs. Jane intervened to calm her husband down. Mr. Frank then pointed out that he had noticed a decrease in Clark's money and demanded an explanation.

Clark told them he had gone out to buy gifts for them, showing what he had bought. Mr. Frank was skeptical, saying, "Those materials couldn't cost that much," but Clark quickly responded that the store he visited was expensive, which reassured his parents.

After a brief conversation about Clark's day, his mother told him to go inside and have his dinner. As he left, Mr. Frank mentioned he would have someone keep an eye on Clark. Mrs. Jane thought it was a smart idea and contacted Yvonne to ask if she had any information about their son. Yvonne received the message and began to think, "Oh, this could be good information."

She replied, "Ma, I noticed Clark has a female friend that you don't know about."

Mrs. Jane quickly inquired, "Who is she?" Yvonne answered, "Her name is Bella Benson; she seems to be my classmate."

Grateful for the information, Mrs. Jane went inside while Mr. Frank called a friend who worked at Clark's school to gather more information.
