"I know what you're thinking," the kid said, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
His voice was small but at the same time, it was too mature for his size. "You're wondering who this kid is and why he's charging you money. Which is why I always tell Sebastian here to explain it before he drags people into my domain."
Azel turned to Sebastian, who was grinning sheepishly and scratching the back of his neck.
"That," Sebastian said, "is the other Grand Mage in the Academy… Sir Torrent."
Azel blinked, turning back to the boy.
He'd seen Sir Torrent before… he was the master of psionics and mental constructs, which earned him his title known as the "Mental Mage."
But in his mind, Sir Torrent was supposed to be tall, intimidating, and old… not a twelve-year-old sitting in a chair with short legs and the face of a grumpy librarian.
"But I thought Sir Torrent was a bit… bigg—Ow!"
A book smacked him in the forehead before he could finish.
