Chapter 26 - Time to Shine

As the match pressed on under the roaring lights, Nicolas Ronoa took a quick throw-in to Floxx Leon from the side line.

Leon burst forward down the pitch alongside his teammates with fierce determination.

But before he could make his next move, Esteban Vega intercepted,a swift slide, clean and precise l, sweeping the ball neatly from Leon's feet and sending it gliding across the field toward Joshua Gray.

With immaculate control, Gray trapped the ball mid-stride, his movements sharp and balanced.

He sprinted down the right flank, his agility allowing him to glide past Ness with a deft feint. The Maraford side surged into attack mode, their formation tightening as they closed in on Devertary United's penalty area.

Then, for the first time in the match, Ramon Guwen charged forward from his position, breaking formation.

Gray caught sight of him and smirked confidently, sending a quick pass toward Beyer Marcel beside him.

But Guwen's move wasn't reckless,it was calculated. His sudden dash had baited Gray into passing. The ball was easily intercepted mid-flight by Poker, who anticipated the play perfectly.

Without hesitation, Poker launched a long ball upfield. It soared high and landed right in front of Leon, who immediately sprinted forward. The Devertary United players joined in, their counterattack unfolding like a storm.

From behind, Ramirez emerged, shadowing Leon's movements. Leon found Deo wide on the left and released a perfect through ball. Deo tore down the flank, his pace unmatched, before curling a precise cross into the box toward Axel.

Maraford's goalkeeper, Mat Akersson, rushed out of his post, managing to punch the ball away at the last second.

The rebound, however, fell dangerously close to the feet of Carlos Marcus. Marcus unleashed a shot, but Hernández Cruz reacted instantly, deflecting the ball out of play.

The referee's whistle cut through the noise, signaling a corner for Devertary United. Guwen Ramon stepped up to take it.

After a brief moment of setup, he sent in a curling delivery into the Maraford box. The keeper tipped it away, sending the ball spinning loose near the edge of the area, right into the path of Alejandro Ramírez.

Ramírez grinned. "It's my time to shine," he muttered, charging forward with confidence. But before he could act, Ness slid in and snatched the ball cleanly off his boots.

"Sorry," Ness said with a small laugh, straightening up. "It's my time to shine, not yours."

Then, from seventy meters out, Ness drew back and unleashed a strike. A blinding white and green aura surrounded him as the ball rocketed forward like a cannon blast.

It tore through the air, past defenders and the crowded Maraford box, before slamming perfectly into the top corner of the net.

The stadium erupted. The scoreboard flashed brightly: Devertary United 4 – Maraford 0.

Ness sprinted to the sidelines, leaped into the air, and landed with both arms raised triumphantly. His teammates rushed over, surrounding him in a celebration of disbelief and joy.

On the sidelines, Vincent Greenwood could only stare, astonished. "Honestly," he murmured, "I thought Shark was the only talented one in this team.

But it seems Shark was just the cover, Devertary United is full of monsters."

Shark, watching from the bench, burst into laughter, joining the other substitutes in wild celebration as Ness's goal replayed on the big screen.

Meanwhile, Harrison stood quietly, a proud smile crossing his face as he watched Ness bask in the glory of the moment.

Further down the field, Ramirez stood bent over, breathing heavily. Marcel jogged up beside him, clapping him on the shoulder. "Cheer up, man," he said lightly.

Ramirez brushed Marcel's hand away, eyes burning with renewed determination. "I'll shine on this pitch," he said, voice firm. "The time for perfect composure is over."

As he turned and walked away, a faint glow enveloped him once more, his aura flickering like a rising flame.

Marcel watched him go, a hint of awe in his voice. "I've never seen Ramirez so fired up before…"

The game pressed on with relentless intensity.

Ramírez collected the ball at midfield and sent a swift pass toward Zhilin, who immediately broke into a sprint down the right flank.

Esteban Vega ran shoulder to shoulder with him, the two exchanging tight, calculated passes to weave past Ronoa and Leon with finesse.

Spotting an opening, Zhilin swung a cross into the pitch, aiming for Marcel.

But before the ball could reach him, Ness leapt into the air, intercepting it with a firm header that redirected play toward Leon's feet.

Leon wasted no time,he dashed forward, cutting through the midfield before sliding a clean pass to Deo.

As he charged ahead, Deo raised his hand, signaling his teammates into position while keeping perfect control of the ball.

Seeing an opening behind him, Deo laid a precise back pass to Ness, who instantly curved a long ball toward Ronoa on the right.

Zhilin closed in quickly, but just before the tackle landed, Ronoa slipped a sharp forward pass to Leon.

By now, the Maraford penalty box was packed with defenders.

Leon, reading the chaos perfectly, launched himself forward and timed a clever pass to Axel, who took no chances. He fired an immediate shot toward the top left corner of the goal!

The crowd roared, but Nkrumah Kusi, Maraford's right-back, reacted heroically, rising high to head the ball away from danger.

The deflection, however, dropped invitingly to Joshua Gray.

With blistering speed, Gray sprinted upfield, executing a flawless long pass to Ritter Lothar.

The Maraford counterattack was in full motion, the gap between their runners and Devertary United's midfield had widened dangerously, leaving only the defenders and the keeper to hold the line.

Lothar returned the favor with a neat timed pass back to Gray, who surged ahead.

Poker darted out of position to cut off Marcel, anticipating a pass, but the ball instead zipped toward Ramírez.

The Devertary defenders hesitated except for Damian Night, who had already positioned himself squarely in front of Ramírez, forcing a hurried pass toward Lothar once again.

But Guwen Ramon had read the play to perfection. Anticipating the move, he intercepted the ball cleanly and immediately launched it forward. It found Ness, who accelerated into open space.

"The Devertary defense absolutely magnificent!" the commentator bellowed, his voice electrified with excitement.

At that moment, Ness unleashed a shot toward Axel, who fired on goal.

Mat Akersson dove, deflecting the ball away but before anyone could react, Carlos Marcus charged in, meeting the rebound mid-stride and heading it straight into the net!

The stadium erupted.

The scoreboard blazed: Devertary United 5 – Maraford 0.

A hat trick by Shark in the 18th, 30th, and 44th minutes,

Ness's strike in the 50th, and now Marcus's finishing touch in the 71st sealed Devertary United's domination.
