The sea was silent, at last, but the fire was still burning. Sunshine was still in awe of it. How could a sea burn? For a moment, she wondered if she should have captured a burner and studied it. Their biology had to be interesting.
Cold air surged in her veins, she pressed her palms together, summoning frost. Ice blossomed on the suit, on the gloves and the water around her. It spiraled outward in millions of tiny flakes, spreading to the parts of the sea that were still burning.
She pushed up, using the thrusters to push herself to a reef outside the dome. From above, she pushed her ability further, spreading ice like a glacier, encasing the parts of the dome that were still on fire.
The fire fought back, roaring beneath the waves, but her ice was stronger.
