"Guess they still care about me"
Amanda woke up and looked around, finding herself bandaged up and lying on an hospital bed.
She tried to sit up but she felt pain all over her body. Her mind wandered as she tried to remember what had happened.
Then she remembered.
She was almost beaten to death by Devon under the instructions of Jonas in the presence of the other two.
Her eyes turned cold and she chuckled dryly to herself. She thought she was definitely going to die this time around. But of course she survived. She felt a movement beside her and glanced down to see her mom seating on a chair beside her and sleeping ,laying her head on the bed.
"Guess she doesn't want me to die after all" Amanda thought to herself, raising her hand up to see a drip connected to it.
Her movement caused her mom to jerk awake
"Are you ok?" Her mom asked ,bristling her. "Should I get the doctor? Are you feeling pains?" She asked
I feel pain all over
"Im fine" She replied trying to smile a bit.
"Are you sure?" Her mom asked and Amanda stared at her closely, she had never been this close to her mom , she saw the sadness in her eyes and for some seconds Amanda didn't know what to say. This was all strange to her. But she smiled and nodded.
"I'm fine"
"How can you be fine? I was scared to death, I thought you were already dead" Her mom stuttered and started crying. Her eyes were red and her nose was dripping with snot her face looked haggard.
Amanda felt something stir in her eyes. Her mom was worried about her. Her mom was scared because she thought she was dead. Her mom wasn't mad at her.
"You're not upset with me?" She asked , her voice low and strained.
"Why will I be?" Her mom, Catherine, asked wiping her tears away "I love you Amanda. And I'm your mother. I care so much about you. I don't like seeing you hurt." She muttered then her gaze hardened "Tell me who did this to you , I'll have them arrested this moment"
Amanda chuckled, a real one not a fake one. Her mind was calm. Her goal was clear.
"I didn't see their face mom they wore masks" Amanda replied
"They? There was more than one person? Why ? What did you ever do to deserve this ?" Catherine muttered crying again.
"It's fine mom. I'll be fine. Stop crying please." Amanda muttered lifting up her hand with great difficulty to wipe away the tears on her moms face.
"I'll stop..... I'll stop crying" Catherine muttered wiping her tears away again " I'll go get you something to eat, you must be hungry" she stood up " I'll be right back ok" she said and kissed Amanda on the forehead before hurrying out to get something for Amanda to eat.
Amanda's face beamed for a while.
Her mom didn't hate her.
Her mom wasn't mad at her.
Her mom loved her.
She had had the wrong thoughts all this while. Her mom never hated her. It was all in her head.
And she realized with a jolt that she loved and cared about her mom. She didn't like seeing her cry.
She was crying because Amanda got hurt, and Amanda got hurt because of... those bastards
