Chapter 2 - oddness

Not wanting to get lost in my thoughts, I changed out of my worn uniform and put on a thick jacket because winter is coming soon.

I left the house just to get some fresh air. At the edge of the fence, as usual, the animals were preparing for winter hibernation. The orange cat didn't visit me today.

A little disappointed, I closed the black fence behind me and left the residential area. There was one thing that crossed my mind that night.

Why did I have a vision of someone's death? Why were the place and time so accurate?

"Get out of my mind!" Without realizing it, I shouted like a madman. And then someone approached me. An old man in shabby clothes.

"What's wrong, young man?" he asked, holding my right shoulder.

I was startled because I hadn't noticed him even though he was very close.

"No, I'm fine," I replied, looking down in embarrassment.

"What are you doing alone in this dense forest?" replied the old man. From what I could see, he was a skilled woodcutter. I could tell from his strong hands, even though he was much older than me.

"I'm looking for some fresh air." Not wanting to chat any longer, I quickly ended the topic and hoped he wouldn't reply.

"Hahaha!" The old man laughed.

"Good, I like your spirit, young man. When I was your age, the adventures never stopped." He pointed to the riverbank with his index finger.

"In that river, it is said that there are many mystical things. And I saw one of them." He smiled while holding his chin.

"Mystical things?" I asked.

"Hoho, as long as the river hasn't dried up, it will always claim victims, every year, and that has been proven to be true." He dragged his wooden basket and prepared to leave the dense forest area.

"Wait! Do you know the man in this photo?" I took a photo out of my pocket and showed him a man who was none other than my uncle.

"His name is John Cruise, he lived in this area about 20 years ago." I explained, breathing a little hurriedly.

"Hmm, I've never seen a man with blond hair and a thick beard like that. Sorry, kid, see you next time." With that answer, he immediately left the place. And left me alone.

I covered my head with the hoodie collar, walking aimlessly. My fingertips began to

feel cold. Without realizing that my nose and fingertips were starting to turn bright red.

The day was getting colder, so I hurried home because it was already late afternoon. However, before going home, I decided to buy a DVD to watch today.

The store was not far from my house, so I walked through the forest area casually and smoothly. Enjoying a day without school.

I didn't used to live in this area. Of course not. Because now I don't have parents or close family. I am free, although sometimes I feel a little tormented.

I continued along the long road filled with unformed pebbles. Passing through a wide and very dark train tunnel.

Feeling bored, I took out a bag containing earphones from my pants pocket. While listening to music with earphones plugged into both ears.

The sound of trains? Smoke stacks? They didn't bother me.

If only every day could be like this...

My head

It hurts so much!!

"Damn it!" It happened suddenly.

My head felt like it was going to explode, and in a flash, I saw myself. Hit in front of the train tracks, leaving only my two eyeballs.

"Aaghh!" The incident was about to happen in a matter of seconds!

Both of my earphones fell out, and my body remained motionless. I couldn't move a single step. It felt like death was approaching me.

No, my life was over...

"...."

My vision suddenly turned pitch black, but I was still alive. The noise of the crowd was louder than the sound of the train crashing.

The last thing I saw was the wreckage of the train carriage. Before I closed my eyes.

It was already evening when I found myself lying in my bedroom. However, the jacket I was wearing was wet and dirty.

It smelled awful.

I tried to get up, but my head still felt dizzy. I couldn't explain my current condition; everything was a mess.

The last time I was on the train tracks, I was almost hit. However, I felt someone push me, and as a result, I was still alive. Who was it?

I couldn't remember clearly because the only memory I had was of the damaged train car. I wondered who had pushed me at that moment.

I looked toward the window on the right and opened the curtains as wide as possible. There was an ambulance in front of my apartment. And 'she' again??

A woman with short black hair, cut in a pixie style, stood there. At first glance, I saw her red eyes staring at me. I quickly cursed under my breath and hid myself next to the wide-open window.

What was that strange woman doing here?

That was my only question at that moment, putting aside the accident that had just happened. There were many high school students standing and circling around her, taking selfies with her.

What the hell is this?

Finally, I received a call from my classmate, Frederick.

"Hey, man! Are you still alive?" he asked, and suddenly I felt my door being banged on loudly. I hung up the phone and rushed out wearing only my jacket and worn-out pants.

I opened the door and stared at him sharply. "Are you crazy?" I asked with an unpleasant expression. I made that expression on purpose.

He immediately hugged me and cried like a princess in the damsel.

"Get away, Frederick, you're disgusting." I pushed him away with disgust because of his behavior and the smell of sweat on his body, which was like he had been forced to do something.

I pushed him until he fell and stumbled. I couldn't hold back the laughter I had been suppressing and let it out with a guffaw.

Well, because I'm a good friend, I invited him into the room. While brewing tea and stirring it with a thin, cracked spoon.

He sat on the sofa and watched television, then lay down. I approached him and poured a little hot tea on his neck.

"Hey, what the hell, Tom?"

"Move away."

"..."

"I said move away."

"...okay."

He woke up from his deep sleep and sat up like a proper guest as usual. I placed both cups of tea on the edge of the table and turned off the TV so he could focus on me.

"What really happened to me? And why are so many students from our school in front of my apartment? Fred."
