“I brought some tea for relieving fatigue since it seems like you’ve been working too hard in the past few days.”
Petra placed a tray with a teapot and teacup on the table in the emperor’s study. The emperor was staring at the wall, lost in thought, but he turned around and acknowledged her with a nod.
“Are you concerned that your plans might fail?” Petra asked nonchalantly as she set a teacup in front of him.
“…Are you certain you leaked the information to the grand duke?”
“Absolutely. He will undoubtedly believe that assassins will target him as soon as he departs from the capital.”
The emperor nodded.
“Excellent plan. The grand duke is quick-witted, so I was worried that he’d leave quickly if we tried to attack him in the capital, but if we did so outside, the challenge would lie in overpowering him.”
“Indeed. We would have to be conscious of the nobles that gathered due to the contest if we tried to get rid of him in the capital.”
