Apollonia reached out and picked out a small purple hydrangea from a glass bottle on the desk. It was one that Uriel had brought for her, and he gazed at her for a moment with a tender expression.
“I don’t really need those flowers, so it would be nice if the white-eyed bat enjoys it,” she said, her eyes lovingly fixed on the hydrangea.
She then placed it back in the bottle and rose from her seat.
Uriel’s gaze followed her as she stood.
“I need to hurry and get ready to go to the palace after finishing up here.”

“Take care of the soldiers who came from the Viche County,” Apollonia interjected with a smile, a radiant smile reserved solely for Uriel.
He, who had been halfway up from his seat, sank back down as if under a spell.
Apollonia pivoted towards the study’s door as soon as she finished speaking.
“We have a lot to do, so I’ll see you in the evening.”
