“It’s an honor to be in your presence, Duchess,” politely said the man.
Petra stood still and scrutinized him for a few moments. Her golden eyes gleamed like a predator who had just discovered a new plaything.
“…You look just like Syd Weihen,” she remarked.
Nox wore a bitter smile and nodded at the mention of his father.
“Many point out the resemblance, whether I like it or not.”
Petra’s eyes shone again when she heard his response.
“I hear you were almost caught by that bodyguard after you abducted the princess.”
Nox’s eyes widened. “How did you…?”
“Did you think I wouldn’t have enough information to know that you kidnapped the princess? It’d be impossible to completely cover up such a thing. Although, it appears she didn’t report it to His Majesty, given that you’re still alive.”
Nox lowered his head momentarily. “She said she spared me because of my father.”
