Chapter 66 - A NEW ISLAND IN VIEW!!

Yukio wasn't wrong, the next island wasn't far, the day had gone far enough into the evening hours, the sun's color affected the clouds' hue. Alloy and crew were hungrier than they ever thought possible, Alloy lived in a palace all her life, Damion knew hunger, but even he used to give up and eat whatever he could find as long as when he touched it, it didn't react to his skin… dangerous way to live, I know, but his life led him there. Tasue… well… after she met Ritta, she had never gone hungry a day in her life. Kakeha… sadly, she was used to the hunger. However, Yukio kept looking at them, wondering why they just continued starving for as long as they did.

He and the three troops were digging in to their stale-moss rations, named officially by Damion himself. The rest had denied eating it and decided to wait. They were more impatient for those few hours than ever before.

"YUKIO!!!! How much longerrrr!!" Alloy complained.

"I don't think I can stay awake…" Damion added.

"Me too, aniki… my stomach feels funny…" Tasue told him.

"Alloy-san…" Kakeha began. She stood up and began staring at the back of the deck. "Something is following us…"

"Huh??" Alloy tilted her head. "Who could follow us in the sea??"

"More than you would believe, but this isn't human…"

"What do you mean, Kakeha??" Damion asked.

Tasue opened her umbrella and leaped atop the deck hatch. Upon looking over to the other side, her eyes and mouth opened wide. She froze up there.

"Tasue!! What is it??"

"H… help…" she stuttered.

"Help??" Alloy glanced at Damion. Unsure of her reply.

"It's here, Alloy-san."

"What i…" she was interrupted by the sound of a loud low growl. Tasue still wasn't moving, so Damion leaped next to her to see what was happening. His eyes alone, widened. A second later, his lips smiled. He turned back to Alloy.

"Do you remember what we ate on Otto's ship??!!" He asked.

"Huh??" She paused for a moment before a flashback of the feast she gave Otto as well as his men came to mind. "Yeah!!"

"Get ready for it again!! It's coming!!"

Suddenly, the entire ship began shaking, Yukio and his men got out to see Kakeha and Alloy. Damion and Tasue were right above them. As he was about to call out to Alloy himself, he glanced at her hands to see the mist of shadows forming. She took a stance, slightly crouching first. Damion then called out once more."IT'S HERE!!"The surface waves of the sea gave way to a creature that lurked underneath. It leaped into the air as everyone watched it, along with the water it drew with it for a moment. The creature was just a massive fish, colored Green and yellow along its scales and fins. It's black eye caught a glimpse of the people right below it and changed its course accordingly. The moment it began diving down toward the Enforcer, Alloy's misted hands then formed one blade. She glanced at it once more before she unleashed her attack.

Through the use of one shadow katana, she rose back up, swinging her blade all the way to the other side, creating a wave that split the fish into two unequal pieces and then landed right next to her and Kakeha.Tasue's, Kakeha's, Yukio's and the three troops' eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as Damion jumped down back to Alloy who was smiling as she aimed for the right sizes to split the fish for everyone. Then, one of the troops shrieked, running to Yukio with an open book labeled, 'Poisonous fish.' Of course, Yukio's shock increased even more, forcing his hair to begin rising, quite literally floating. Instantly, he kicked both unequally cut pieces of fish back into the sea. Alloy's smile turned, her entire face went white and blank, "Why…" she asked in despair for a second before both her and Damion then stared at him in an anger that Yukio would've sworn was the same anger they used to take down Spire. The two slowly began walking toward him. Alloy's sword still gripped on her left hand and Damion's fingers began flaring slight sparks.

"Alloy-san, Damion-san…" He gulped, his face dripped in sweat. He was intimidated faster than his words would leave his mouth. "Alloy-san…" Kakeha's voice, softer than usual, forced them to glance at her. They didn't care for the book that the troop so nervously held up for Kakeha to try stopping his Captain's death. "That fish was poisonous… if Yukio-san didn't kick it away, we would've died shortly after eating it." She continued.

Damion's sensed arrived easily back to him. He stood in his tracks and knew Yukio saved him, whereas his Captain was bawling that she couldn't have any food. Her sword dissipated as she held herself from falling with both hands, like a damsel in distress. Seeing as she was the closest to the bow of the ship, Kakeha stared at her before her eyes began flashing something else. She began seeing a burst of silver waves, then another wave, another, and another. A stern expression showed on her face and demeanor as she walked past Alloy to the center of the deck, despite everyone's sudden staring, they figured it was something important, so they watched. Yukio had finished pretending that Alloy and Damion's anger didn't affect him.

Kakeha's eyes began seeing short bursts of waves, then she looked above and behind her to look at Tasue.

"Tasue-san… can you get me up there like you do yourself??"

"Mmh!!" She nodded. She then took out her whip and laid it down for her. "Hold it!!"

She did so and instantly, Tasue began pulling her up like nothing was on the other end of it.

"Whoa… interesting!! I feel lighter than air itself!!" She exclaimed as she landed next to her. exhilarated. "Thank you." She took a deep breath and focused. She opened her eyes and soon enough, confirmed it. The waves were constant. Something resonated, something massive.

"Alloy-san!! We're close to an island!!"

Alloy stood up and ran to the bow of the deck. "What??"

"I don't see a thing…" Damion mentioned.

"Me neither," Tasue added.

"What do you see, Kakeha??" Yukio inquired.

"Its how my abilities work… I get feint glimpses of resonance from different places affected by Shiun, like islands and the massive fish we saw earlier. As long as Shiun is interrupted or interacted with within my range, I can focus enough to see it well."

"Interesting, how far is it??" Damion asked.

"About three to four hours away."

"WHAT??!!" He, Yukio and Alloy exclaimed.

"You can see resonance that far ahead??!!" Damion asked, his eyes wider than Alloy had seen before.

"Yes… we'll be there by night time." Kakeha concluded.

"You're so cool, Kakeha!!" Tasue mentioned.

"Thank you…"

In no time, the two went back down as Yukio explained, "The island we're headed to is named Taka island. It doesn't have many people, and those who do live there live humble lives. There should be a marketplace that will help us find foods and supplies to go on with. However, it is an island with two seasons, both winter in its North, and summer everywhere else."

"How is that possible??!!" Alloy asked, alarmed.

"Don't worry, Kakeha-san here will be able to tell you once we get there. My explanation depends on what she will see." He smirked.

"Okay, I hope we can survive until we get there… I'm starving…" she cried out.
