Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Founder's Curse

Aeris Blake

The Room of Requirement was eerily quiet tonight. Aeris stood in the center, the soft hum of magic surrounding her like a whisper. The walls shimmered in the dim light of her wand, but the room felt too large, too empty.

She felt the pull again—the same force that had drawn her to the mirror and to the forest. But tonight was different.

Tonight, she was here to uncover something.

"I know you're here," she whispered to the air.

For a long moment, nothing happened. Then the stone floor beneath her feet began to crack. A small pool of blood—her blood—formed from where her palm pressed against the ground. The cracks spread outward, curling and twisting until they formed a pattern that reminded her of the serpent's mark on her wrist.

A door appeared in the wall. Solid, ancient, and sealed with four symbols—each one representing a founder of Hogwarts. The first: Godric Gryffindor's roaring lion. The second: Helga Hufflepuff's blooming flower. The third: Rowena Ravenclaw's eagle. The last... the serpent.

But it was the serpent that caught her eye. Morrigan's symbol was scratched out. The ink was smudged, as if someone had tried to erase it.

Her heart raced.

"Why is it scratched out?"

The door slowly opened with a groan, and Aeris stepped through.

Rose Weasley

Rose, back in the Gryffindor Tower, was starting to feel like Aeris was slipping away from them.

The history book was open in front of her, but her thoughts kept drifting to the mark on Aeris's wrist and the legend surrounding Morrigan Slytherin. She had seen the chamber's seal. It had to be real. Aeris was part of something ancient—something that no one understood.

"Are you even listening?" Albus asked.

She looked up.

"Sorry, just... thinking about the prophecy," Rose said, sighing. "This 'Blade of Ash' keeps coming up, and I can't shake the feeling that it's tied to everything happening with Aeris."

Albus frowned. "That blade, the one they're hunting her for... It's not just a weapon. It's a curse."

Albus Potter

Albus had a growing sense of dread. It started after he read the prophecy in the vault in the Restricted Section.

"The child of two fires shall rise; her heart will split, and so shall the school."

He didn't know what it meant. He didn't want to know. The words were haunting, but the implications were clear.

Aeris was the "child of two fires." Her mother's lineage—the Slytherins. Her father's magic—a force yet untapped.

And the curse?

That was something else entirely.

If Morrigan's bloodline wasn't just a power, but an actual curse, then what did it mean for Aeris? Was she doomed from the start?

Scorpius Malfoy

Scorpius had never been one to feel nervous about magic. He had grown up with dark, ancient spells at his fingertips—none of which ever bothered him. But when he saw Aeris use that Parseltongue spell, something inside him shifted. The magic felt different from anything he'd ever seen.

It was like a part of him was connected to it. Like they had known each other in another lifetime. A thousand thoughts spiraled through his mind.

But one thought remained constant.

He was afraid.

Afraid of what Aeris was becoming. Afraid of what he might have to do to protect her.

Aeris Blake – The Vault

The vault was cold—colder than the rest of the room. Aeris walked through it slowly, her steps echoing off the stone walls.

There was no mistaking it. This room had been sealed for a reason. The enchanted symbols glowed faintly, but their power seemed dormant, waiting for something—or someone—to awaken it.

She walked past ancient artifacts—wands, scrolls, glass vials of ingredients she couldn't name.

Then she saw it.

A golden box, resting on a pedestal. The box was sealed with a serpent-shaped lock, the same as her mark.

Her hands shook as she reached for it.

"You are the key," the voice whispered in her head.

Aeris hesitated, then placed her hand on the box. The lock clicked open, and inside, nestled on velvet, was a small pendant—a silver snake coiled around a flame.

She gasped.

Suddenly, the air around her crackled. A voice boomed in her mind, one she hadn't heard in years.

"Morrigan..."

The walls seemed to close in, the ground shaking beneath her feet.

Rowena Ravenclaw's Portrait

The room shifted again. Aeris found herself standing before a large, ornate portrait. The face of Rowena Ravenclaw smiled down at her, serene and wise.

"You should not have come here, child," Rowena said softly. "But I see why you did."

Aeris stepped forward. "You knew her... didn't you? Morrigan Slytherin?"

Rowena's smile faltered. "I knew her well. We were friends, once. She was not what the history books say. Morrigan's bloodline was always seen as a threat—not because of darkness, but because of what she knew. And she refused to keep it secret."

Aeris's heart thudded in her chest. "What did she know?"

Rowena's expression hardened. "She knew the truth about Salazar Slytherin. And the curse that binds us all."

Scorpius Malfoy – The Hidden Message

Back in the Slytherin common room, Scorpius had been doing what he hated most—waiting.

Suddenly, he felt the pull of magic again. It was so strong, he couldn't ignore it. He followed it to his father's private study, a place he knew he wasn't supposed to enter. But this time, something compelled him to push open the door.

Inside, he found a letter. A journal entry from his father. A warning.

"Morrigan Slytherin's return is inevitable. If the heir rises, so too will the curse of the Founders. Prepare for the worst."

Scorpius's hand clenched the letter. He couldn't ignore this. Aeris was the heir. She was the key. And something far darker was at play than anyone could have imagined.

Final Scene – The Hidden Prophecy

Aeris sat in the darkened room, the pendant burning in her hand. The whispers of Morrigan's voice filled her mind.

"The curse will follow you, heir. The school will fall, and all of us will rise... again."

The pendant grew hot in her palm.

And then, everything went dark.
