Across from him, Yun curled his lips, "Is it really necessary to take this so seriously?"
Kakashi's right hand again sparked with lightning, and at the same time, his shadow clone extended its right hand as well.
"Lightning Realease: Thunder Transmission!"
In an instant, the lightning chakra formed a chain of electricity, and the two Kakashis darted to opposite sides while closing in quickly.
Whoosh!
The chain formed by Lightning Blade encircled all five versions of Uchiha Yun. Kakashi and his clone pulled simultaneously,
Boom!
The ground scorched black from the lightning. All five of Yun's clones vanished into thin air as if they had been vaporized by the electricity.
"Did it work?"
Murmuring to himself, Kakashi turned to look behind him, only to hear:
Pfft!
His shadow clone dispersed into smoke as a long blade fell behind him.
"Whoosh!"
The sword sliced down across his shoulder, but it only split a block of wood.
'Substitution Technique, huh?'
"You used a substitution technique right after Thunder Transmission ended? Seems you weren't all that confident in your guess!" Yun's voice rang out, while Kakashi's figure vanished from view. The field fell into silence.
On a tree outside the training field…
Minato looked at Shisui and said, "None of them were the real body. All the attacks came from the real Yun, but each time he struck, he retreated immediately. The illusion made Kakashi believe every clone was real."
Shisui nodded slightly. "Each attack triggers a reset of the Sharingan's genjutsu. Once the clones began to move, Kakashi was already trapped."
Minato frowned slightly. "Even with that eye of Kakashi's, the Mangekyō, it doesn't work?"
Shisui shook his head. "Too many factors. One, Kakashi isn't an Uchiha. Two, he only has one Mangekyō. Three, it's not even activated right now…"
Minato exhaled. "Sometimes I'm really envious... Once a Uchiha awakens the three-tomoe Sharingan, they at least have the strength of a special jōnin."
"Whereas ordinary civilian ninja, when they graduate from the academy, they only know the basic Three Body Techniques. That's when the importance of a jōnin instructor really shows. But even then, most instructors don't actually know that many jutsu."
"Kakashi is a special case. And the Hatake clan, since Sakumo, hasn't lacked for jutsu. Plus, with the Sharingan's ability to copy…"
Shisui nodded. "In fact, from chūnin level onwards, having one or two secret techniques already makes you very strong. Most genin or even chūnin only know one or two C- or B-rank jutsu."
He looked at Minato. "Lord Fourth, nowadays the Uchiha aren't stingy with fire-Realease techniques. Besides, both you and Lord Jiraiya are geniuses who came from civilian backgrounds."
Minato smiled. "The real civilians were my teacher Jiraiya and one of the Sannin, Orochimaru. Me… I inherited the name Namikaze."
He then said, "Let's make Uchiha instructors a thing starting next year. A lot still needs to be discussed with the Third, and with the other two families of the Ino-Shika-Chō and the investigation squad."
Hearing Minato's confirmation, Shisui felt a weight lift from his heart. This was a mission Yun had entrusted to him, there must be Uchiha among the jōnin instructors.
This was about building bonds with the next generation of Konoha's core strength and ultimately forming a unified power base.
Meanwhile, back in the training field, Kakashi was hiding behind a tree, struggling to suppress his ragged breathing.
'So none of them were real?'
'Genjutsu Release!'
As expected, illusions cast by the Sharingan weren't so easy to break.
Using the Sharingan's genjutsu as support and Instant Body Technique as the core of his attacks, this was the technique Shisui used to gain fame during the Third Great Ninja War. Both Kirigakure and Kumogakure knew his name.
And now, this technique was being used by Uchiha Yun, who was just nine years old.
'Obito, your clan really does produce monsters…'
'But I won't go down that easily.'
'If I'm under genjutsu now, then…'
'Shadow Clone.'
'Summoning: Earth Release – Tracking Fang Technique!'
Within the training field, only Yun and I are present. So using the field as the boundary, the only other person with a scent… is Uchiha Yun!
"Found you!"
The smoke from the summoning faded, and Yun locked eyes with Kakashi's location.
Whoosh!
A long blade slashed down, but the real Kakashi had already slipped away, leaving only a shadow clone behind to be struck.
"Woof! Grrrr…"
At one corner of the training field, just as Yun landed via body flicker, multiple large dogs burst up from the ground in front of him.
Snarling with bared fangs, they lunged straight at Yun.
Bang! Bang bang!
One punch each, Yun sent the dogs flying like toys.
"Owwww!"
The Eight Ninja Hounds tumbled across the ground, then came rushing back. After all, it was only an exam, Yun couldn't really kill them for dog stew.
But due to the summoning technique, Kakashi, who had now shut off his five senses, had successfully located Yun's true body.
Zzzzz!
The chirping sound of lightning erupted again, increasing Kakashi's speed dramatically.
"Lightning Realease: Twin Lightning Shock!"
In a flash, Kakashi, now dual-wielding Lightning Cutter in both hands, charged toward Yun, who was being pinned down by the ninja dogs.
Smack!
Yun punched another dog flying, taking a few more with it. He shouted angrily, "If you come back again I swear I'll make dog stew tonight!"
In midair, Pakkun twisted his body and leapt again, shouting, "Kakashi said you wouldn't kill us, it's just a test!"
'What the hell?!'
Seeing Kakashi appear instantly in front of him, Yun immediately used Body Flicker to jump into the air.
"This is cheating!"
Led by Pakkun, the Eight Ninja Hounds locked onto Yun again. Below, Kakashi changed direction in pursuit.
"This is ridiculous!"
Yun scowled. The tomoe in his eyes spun rapidly, it was time to get serious.
So many powers were off-limits, it threw off his rhythm. But this just proved Kakashi wasn't your average opponent, he was the real deal.
Zzzzz!
The chirping of Lightning Cutter echoed like a thousand birds, but just before he reached Yun, the electric light from Kakashi's hands suddenly fizzled out.
Smack!
Kakashi collapsed to the ground, panting heavily: "I… I give up. Twin Lightning Shock… uses up… too much chakra…"
