Bunny felt a surge of adrenaline knowing they were in the middle of a forest. Rome's insatiable desire was in overdrive at the moment. From the short period of time she had been in his presence, she knew that she was better off just letting him have his way. He was already frustrated with Baxter interfering in their honeymoon. She wanted to sympathize with Rome.
If this had been her ideal partner and wedding she would have been upset about their ex crashing it, no matter how platonic they protested to being. Bunny couldn't handle Rome's hot and cold behavior. One minute he was calling her horrible names and the next he was making love to her body like she held a special place in his heart for her. His intensity confused the matters for he and she regretted ever meeting him or Baxter.
She knew his mind was clouded with a jealousy so primal she could feel it oozing out of his pores. His hands felt impatient as he worked to to remove her bikini bottom. Both hands firmly squeezed her buttocks. She let out a gasp in surprise. He smiled against her lips.
"You want me." His voice gruff.
Bunny was out of breath from the passionate kiss they shared. Her body was on fire for him. His touch felt more like a prayer. She knew to deny him now would only deny herself of something she couldn't explain. She kept trying to play it down and tell herself the only reason she let him overpower her this way was because she was trying to survive a precarious situation.
It was a lie. One she would take to her grave. The truth was far more scary. Had he roped in his temper and actually treated her like a human being she would have fallen for his good looks and charm.
He impaled her against the tree and with each powerful thrust she felt him taking her over the precipe of desire and into the pool of tranquility that only passionate lovemaking could bring. SHe held on to his broad shoulders as best she could. She tried looking away.
"No!" He ground out as he kept stroking her. "Look at me."
She did as he commanded and their eyes locked. It only took a few seconds before they both exploded in sheer ecstacy. He was holding her midair. Their foreheads were touching. A calm came over Bunny and she felt for just a second everything was right with the world. Rome broke the silence.
"You are mine. Don't forget it." He placed a hard kiss on her lips and let her donw. She quickly got dressed, while Rome adjusted his swim trunks and they made their way back to the house. They found his parents on the patio enjoying drinks and listening to Bob Marley. Baxter was no where to be seen.
His mother's face lit up when she saw the couple walking towards her hand in hand.
"Oh, you two made up. I'm so happy to see it!" His mother was beaming. She exchanged meaningful glances to Bunny's father-in-law. He playfully rolled his eyes at her.
"Yes, mother. We have made up. I want to apologize for my behavior to Bunny and to you all." He stated.
Bunny was surprised at his admission. He was putting his ego aside to apologize for his behavior. Was their sex that good ? She playfully wondered and pushed the thought form her mind. Maybe he was coming around after the conversation they had.
He knew his behavior was becoming unbearable. There was no way for them to peacefully co-exsist if he kept up with his sour attitude. She did her part and just smiled at him. She beamed with fake pride. Sure it would appease his parents to know their son had married a woman who cared about his good charector and not just his money.
"Oh, darling. Truly, it is fine." His mother stood up then and embraced both her son and Bunny. She then guided them both to the wicker love seat on the patio. They took a seat. Rome laced her hand with his. She looked at their hands intertwined and then looked at him. His eyes were telling her something she wasn't sure she was ready to accept.
He winked at her and she looked back ahead at his parents, who sat in the seats across from them.
"It is only natural that you want to be alone. This is your honeymoon. Your father and I can see that you love Bunny very much. Your father was a bear when we were first married." His mother playfully confessed.
Bunny was amused and intrigued by her mother-in law's confession.
She looked at Rome's father who was just watching his wife recount his past nuptual shenanagans.
"Mother !" Rome was shocked at his mother's confession.
"What? It's true. He fought his best friend at the time, Tommy Sissle." SHe told him.
"Why did you fight him, pop?" Rome directed his question to his father.
His father folded his arms and spoke, "Because he crashed our wedding."
Both Bunny and Rome were surprised at the turn of events that had occurred thus far in the re-telling of his parents love story. He had never seen them in this light. His father had always been shrewd and calculating in business, but a wonderful father and husband to his mother. It was strange to know his father once had the same passion he felt for Bunny coursing through his veins for his mother.
"What.." Bunny let it escape. She had been very caught off guard.
His mother smiled, knowing she had them hooked on her story. "Yes. He did crash the wedding and object-"
"Wait. He objected to your marriage?" Rome asked., further pulled in the story.
"Yes." both his parents said at the same time.
"I would have punched him too, pops." Rome concluded.
"Thank you!" His father said as if he was finally vindicated. "Even your son agrees that I did the right thing in that situation. All these years later. I have no regrets. When a man oversteps he must be put in his place."
"You are such a bull." Rome's mother told her husband. " He objected. I also told him 'no'. There was no reason to break his jaw." His mother was beginning to get annoyed thinking back at it.
Now Rome felt bad for taking sides. "Mom-"
"I'm fine." She shrugged it off and smiled once more. "I'm telling you this story so you understand how marriage works. You will do crazy things for one another. At the end of the day it is important to forgive one another and express your love." She said.
Just then Rome's father scooted his mother's chair over to his own. " My darling, please forgive me for doing that. I apologize for ruining our special day. I love you now and forever."
Bunny felt her heart swell with love for the elder couple. They were adorable. One could only hope for a love like theirs. Rome was a lucky man to have such wonderful parents. Hers was a vast contrast.
One she could never openly talk about, so she had always lied and painted a picture of what she hoped her parents would be to one another. No wonder he was so overprotective of them. She felt guilty. Her father had tried to destroy them. She knew she had nothing to with it, but she knew she probably inadvertantly benefited from his father ruining people's lives. She had been so oblivious.
"Bunny?" She heard her name and was brought back to the present.
"Did you hear them?" Rome asked her, suddenly annoyed with her. "Head in the clouds again." He quipped.
Bunny shot him a look. He couldn't help but think the very orst of her. She wanted to tell him the truth, but knew this wasn't the time or place. "Sorry." She apologized.
"Rome, be nice. The poor girl hit her head less than 48 hours ago." His mother chided him.
Rome sat silently.
"Bunny I was telling Rome that we have chartered another yacht. It will be here a long with the tugboat to take baxter's yacht back to land. You and Rome will have privacy on the island. I bet you are glad to be rid of us." She joked.
"No. I have truly enjoyed you both. I am honored I have gotten the chance to get to know you. I hope we can spend more time together after the honeymoon is over." Bunny really meant what she said.
Rome's parents were kind and non-judgemental. His mother helped her navigate his surely side. She would always welcome her advice and opinions.
"You are so kind, Bunny. I see why my son chose you. Yes. We will have to go shopping for his penthouse when you get back to the states. We will leave you two to it. Go enjoy yourselves. Me and your father want to enjoy our drinks here.
Bunny knew that was their cue. Both she and Rome stood up from the loveseat and walked into the house. It was cool inside. The air-conditioning felt good on her skin. They kept walking until the came to a hallway that led to a doorway. He opened it and she saw it was his office.
