"By the way, do you have any objections? Sister is coming with us to King Marco's territory."
Asher looked at Skadi , who had taken out a staff and was walking towards them, and asked.
Skadi lightly tapped Asher's forehead with her staff.
"Don't misunderstand. I'm not your nanny. Whether you live or die has nothing to do with me. I won't intervene this time either."
"It's already a huge help that you can help us with the
illusion. Thank you very much," Asher chuckled.
Skadi just let out an awkward "Tsk," looking displeased.
Just then, a knock came from the door.
Artoria pushed the door open.
"I'm coming in."
Asher was momentarily speechless.
What was the point of saying that after already entering?
Skadi didn't seem to mind much. She raised the staff in her hand. "So, are the only people going with me the three of you?"
"Please, Miss Skadi ," Asher nodded seriously.
Skadi nodded slightly, and light enveloped the three of them. Asher's vision went completely white. When he recovered, the light had already disappeared.
He looked at the two girls beside him and was slightly stunned.
Artoria and Uathach looked unchanged.
"Only the three of you who have accepted the illusion can see each other's true appearance. To outsiders, you all look like commoners," Skadi said.
"It feels like 'The Emperor's New Clothes'," Asher muttered.
"Is Uathach going too?" Artoria asked the eager-looking girl beside her.
"Of course! How could I miss something this fun... this important? Don't underestimate me. Ash was always easily pinned down and rubbed into the ground by me since back then," Uathach said, with a hint of pride on her face towards the end.
"Heh," Asher gave his sister a cold laugh. "At least I used to spar with you for a while before being pinned down and rubbed into the ground."
Artoria: "..."
She's not denying it?
Skadi walked to the head of the bed and sat down, crossing her legs. "Alright, if you're going, go early. Don't disturb my rest."
"Thank you," Asher said again.
Skadi glanced at him faintly. "Don't misunderstand. I'm not trying to help you. I just thought you were too noisy and wanted to quickly trick you into leaving."
Oh! She actually said it! Textbook tsundere lines.
For a moment, Asher didn't know how to respond. He glanced at the two girls beside him and said, "Let's go."
After watching Asher and the others leave, Skadi slowly let out a breath.
It felt like ever since that night, she hadn't quite known how to get along with Asher.
Ah! Such a failure! I knew I shouldn't have disguised myself as someone else!
Ahhh! So embarrassing!
Boom!
A pillar of ice shot into the sky, exploding in mid-air.
"Enemy attack?" Artoria was leading her white horse out when she saw the ice pillar explode into powder like fireworks, and couldn't help but ask.
"I think Skadi must be training, right?" Asher praised
with a "tsk tsk." "Even her superb magic control still requires training. We can't slack off after we return
either."
"Mhm, indeed," Uathach nodded seriously.
Asher immediately eyed Uathach askance. She was still in her previous cool attire, only her long hair was tied into a high ponytail like a kendo girl, paired with her fair and tender thighs beneath her hot pants, making her look incredibly dashing.
His sister actually had the nerve to nod. She used to be the laziest, otherwise her current strength might be more than it was.
"Ash, can you ride a horse now?" Uathach suddenly asked, looking at the horse Asher was leading.
"I trained for a while here before," Asher nodded. "Lily can too."
Uathach turned to look, and Artoria showed a faint smile: "His riding was taught by me."
A rare hint of pride appeared on her face, as if recalling what happened when she taught Asher to ride. Having one or two more skills than Asher made her quite proud.
"That's nice, I don't know how to ride a horse yet,"
Uathach regretfully sat on the horse's back, wrapping her arms around Asher's waist.
"Ash will have to carry me."
Artoria's smile stiffened slightly, and her expression suddenly became a little unnatural.
She secretly glanced to the side. Uathach was almost completely pressed against Asher's body, and her considerable softness naturally pressed against his back.
Seemingly noticing Artoria's gaze, Uathach gave Artoria
a cute smile.
Artoria silently withdrew her gaze.
"Let's go," she said, then rode her white horse away at a gallop.
"She's giving up just like that, no wonder she hasn't conquered him yet..." Uathach mumbled.
In Uathach's view, Artoria was the type of pure girl who was good at most skills, but completely clueless when it came to romance.
Of course, if Uathach knew that this girl, whom she considered pure, had tried to drug Asher twice unsuccessfully before, she would probably burst into tears of laughter from surprise.
Uathach patted Asher's head. "Let's go!"
"You're the one riding the horse, sister! Don't treat me like a horse!"
"You can be a horse too~" Uathach whispered.
Asher pretended not to hear, tightened the reins, and lightly kicked the horse's belly. The black steed neighed and galloped out of Camelot Castle, following Artoria.
Unbeknownst to them, the orange-red sunset enveloped the vast land. Asher could no longer see Artoria's figure, but he didn't continue chasing. Instead, he let the horse stop by the side to rest.
Because not long ago, Uathach had been shouting behind him about her aching back and legs, Asher decided to take a short rest in a village near King Marco's territory for his sister's sake. Lily wasn't foolish; she would definitely wait for them when they were close to King Marco's territory.
"Sister, is this what you meant by 'you won't hold us back'?" Asher leaned back on the roadside grass, turning to look at the girl who unceremoniously used his thigh as a pillow.
"Hehe... Sister is a mage, not someone who exercises regularly like you guys. Isn't it normal to have less stamina?" Uathach lightly rubbed Asher's thigh like a kitten.
"Besides, it's been a long time since it was like this, hasn't it?" She raised her eyes, which held a gentle smile.
Asher remained silent.
It truly had been a long time since he was this close to his sister. Thinking about it made him feel quite nostalgic.
Uathach also stopped talking, silently staring at Asher's face. Her beautiful purple eyes seemed to sparkle in the light of the setting sun.
She reached out and touched Asher's lips.
"Ash."
"What?"
"How many times have you kissed?"
"?!"
Looking at Asher's undisguised look of surprise, Uathach secretly stifled a laugh, her shoulders trembling slightly.
"I was just joking, don't be nervous."
Asher glanced at the girl lying on his lap.
Why did he feel like his sister already knew something?
His imagination? Or... had he really been discovered?
No, he should just take this opportunity to explain things clearly to his sister.
As Asher thought this, he was about to speak, but then suddenly felt a very familiar aura.
He turned to look at the nearby village, his gaze slightly narrowing.
"What's wrong?" Uathach couldn't help but ask.
"That Druid is in this village," Asher said, looking at the black-robed man surrounded by a group of children in the village.
Even though his face was hidden by a large hood, Asher recognized him at once: this was the Druid from the knighting ceremony that day!
"Let's go take a look," Asher said.
This was an excellent opportunity. Although he didn't know why the Druid was in this village, it was undoubtedly much safer than directly entering King Marco's territory.
