Chapter 14 - Adventurer Registration

"…We somehow got our hand on really good weapons."

"Yes… but still it's just too much, it make me want to go back and return

them…"

I was walking on the street with Alicia while feeling slightly excited by the

weapons that were beyond our situation that we managed to obtain.

As expected compared to my penis sword that could transform into

adamantite, this weapon was still within the limit of common sense, even so

it was still a quality work with power and robustness that were

incomparable to normal sword.

In addition Weips-san even said "Leave the maintenance to me. Also as

long as you provide the materials, I'll make new weapons or armors for you

two cheaply, so don't hold back". Her generosity really left me completely

speechless.

But well, refusing the offer from someone who was that generous would

also leave a bad taste in my mouth instead.

I somehow accepted Weips-san's kindness and headed toward our next

destination.

"So this place is this city's adventurer guild."

The place that Alicia and I headed next was a big brick building that was

located near the outskirt of the city.

The adventurer guild.

It was an institution that acted as a go-between for work like monster

extermination that the national army couldn't undertake or harvesting

material.

In order to obtain permission for using Master-Servant contract cancellation

item, I had to build up considerable reputation and trust as an adventurer.

Even disregarding that, we had to earn money for our daily living expenses

during our elopement. So we needed to work as adventurer as quickly as

possible.

I also wanted to quickly accumulate combat experience for the day in the

future when pursuers came for Alicia.

*Clang clang*

I pushed open the wooden door together with Alicia.

Just like any city anywhere, the inside of the guild also functioned as a bar.

Appraising gazes from people who looked completely like ruffians pierced

us, but for now I pretended to not notice.

Alicia and I walked straight toward the receptionist. I talked to the

receptionist lady with a bit of nervousness.

This was the second thing that I wanted to do today.

"Excuse me, we want to register as adventurer."

"Then please register your adventurer name and status plate to the crystal

over here."

Alicia and I obeyed the receptionist lady's instruction and stood in front of

the crystal magic item that was set up at the corner of the reception.

Now then, first I registered my adventurer name but… actually entering

fake name or nickname into it was alright.

It seemed that such thing was allowed because of the result of various

circumstances meshing together with each other, like those in power

applying pressure to the guild to prevent the family name of banished noble

like me spread out, or because the guild considered even people with shady

background as precious fighting force.

Because of that it made it easier for people who ran away from home like

Alicia to do their activity but, in the first place a noble running away from

home almost never happened, so it had never really been considered as a

problem until now.

It was one of the reasons why adventurer guild gave the impression as half

a breeding ground of outlaws business.

And so I registered the fake name Eriol that I had given to Sonya and

others.

Next Alicia opened her mouth to register hre name.

"…E – ri – o's – wi──"

"Allie! Let's use Allie!"

I almost didn't make it in time to stop Alicia who was going to register an

adventurer name that was just too screwed up. I made up a name that

seemed fitting for her. That was dangerous…

It was going to become something embarrassing in a different sense from

Incubus Gift.

Now then, let's pull myself together… next was the status plate registration.

In case someone wanted to avoid revealing their identity with this too, it

was allowed to choose not to reveal the status plate's information to the

guild.

In our case, our status plate only displayed our gender and age. Of course

our Gift's information was concealed.

In regard to the level, my level's number was a bit absurd like that, so I kept

it hidden to avoid making a commotion.

The status plate itself had been firmly linked to its respective owner and it

was impossible to falsify as a proof of identification, so that was enough for

recording achievement and paying the quest reward.

But well, it would be necessary to disclose one's identity when requesting

the use of contract breaking item, so my true identity would be found out at

that time but… I'd cross that bridge when the time came.

Like that Alicia and I finished the procedure and returned to the

receptionist.

"You two are only at the age when you have just received your Gift… and

everything other than name and gender is empty… you want to register like

this?"

The receptionist lady's attitude toward us clearly became harsh after

receiving the data from the crystal.

And then she declared this as though to push us away.

the receptionist lady's attitude toward us clearly became harsh

"If you still want to continue with the registration using this data, you will

have to accept an entrance test of actual battle with a method of our

choosing. Is that fine with you?"

It came.

I immediately answered "Yes" to the question that came just as I expected.

"…It's possible that you might get seriously injured from it. The guild

won't take any responsibility no matter what happen."

"That's fine."

The receptionist asked for further confirmation with a threatening tone. I

didn't falter and nodded without hesitation.

Adventuring business could easily become a source of dream like going to

grand adventure, becoming a hero, or getting rich quick.

Because of that a case of children getting carried away as soon as they

received their gift or people without any relative making use of the

allowance to be anonymous during the registration to hide their weak Gift

or still developing status in order to take on a quest that was beyond their

mean wasn't that rare.

And so in case the guild found someone hiding a lot of their status column

during registration, the guild would test their actual strength with an exam.

Depending on the situation the exam would even be designed in order to

cleanly break the applicant's heart.

It was done to keep the guild's prestige, to maintain the quality of

adventurers, and also to prevent pointless death.

"Oi oi, stop that you brats."

"The examiner here is a real piece of work compared to other place

y'know?"

"After all the examiner is a high leveled Herculean Warrior y'see."

"If you want money then come to my room tonight, I'm gonna give yer girl

there some love yeah!"

The adventurers who were watching us also raised their voice mockingly.

Even so I didn't move away from the receptionist and continued showing

my insistence to register.

I had already predicted that I would receive this kind of baptism seeing that

I had to hide my Gift no matter what.

It was then.

"Just when I thought why is there a ruckus here, this is why the time right

after the Gift conferment is annoying… I've lost count of the number of

children who underestimated adventuring work coming to register today."

A good looking slender woman came down from the guild's second floor.

Her blue hair and composed aura stood out. She was a human who looked

to be at her early twenty.

The noisy adventurers immediately fell silent the moment she made her

entrance.

Then right away…

"Haa, I myself don't really want to be too horrible. I wonder how many

bones I need to break today before they give up."

*BAGOO!*

"I'm the examiner Rainy Emerald. Level 80. If you want to go home then

better do it now."

Rainy-san crushed the guild's wall──in other words the brick with her grip

really easily. She grinned toward us.
