Initially, The Green Alchemy Sect was just a typical small sect that was destined to fade into obscurity under the suppression of the greater sects of its time. A common tale that has repeated countless times across history. However, that all changed with the emergence of the Dark Empire. When the stronger sects fell, there was no longer anyone to keep them from growing bigger, and so, small sects like the green alchemy sect began to race to see who would fill the vacuum left behind by their late oppressors.
Yamamoto Midori, the founder of the Green Alchemy Sect had rushed to try and conquer the northern part of the Dark Empire as the number one sect stationed there. She had used countless methods to spread her influence, suppress her competitors and increase her wealth and power. However, her sect was still rather small for the shoes she wanted it to fill. She was understaffed as the work kept increasing. To maintain and grow the connections and influence she had, she needed more disciples to help with pill production amongst other things. However, her sects name was not that famous yet, hence in order to recruit more disciples she focused on entering the Kaguya alchemy festival as a publicity stunt. However, despite her sect being the most influential one in her area, it was still not big enough to warrant a direct invitation to participate yet, hence why she needed to go through the preliminaries in the first place.
To ensure her advancement to the tournament itself, she started focusing her sect's efforts on getting as many of the alchemist guild's people in her pockets both before and even during the event itself. She did not manage to get many of the higher ups, but the lower ranks were a different story. At the start of the events, she could effectively command most of the staff and guards present at the preliminaries, which is why they did not listen to Ono Riku's command to stop her when she started rampaging.
However, as mentioned before, she only had control over the lower ranks, and mostly just the ones from this guild branch specifically. Hence, why individuals of higher ranks or different branches or organizations affiliated with the guild itself will have no qualms attacking her, like the leader of the Dark Empire's alchemy guild, also known as the green palace lord, Mori Akira.
"LET GO OF ME YOU FOOL! HEY, KILL THIS BASTARD!" Midori screamed towards the guards as she struggled to break free of Akira's grasp.
"Oh, I don't think so evildoer! I mean, Yamamoto Midori!" Akira said as he released his blue stage qi pressure, which paralyzed the guards surrounding him.
"Ugh! WHO ARE YOU?!" She screamed, as she struggled to move while experiencing his qi pressure at close range.
"Who, me? I am the dashing cool green lord, Grandmaster detective Mori Akira!" He said, before starting to do some strangely familiar dramatic poses.
"Th-the green palace?!"
"That is correct! I have been suspecting your sect's involvement in a number of incidents for quite some time now, ranging from illegal drug trafficking to murder! Naturally I had to see the truth for myself and went undercover as a judge to confirm your evildoings, but it is worse than I thought! Not only have you sunk your teeth into the alchemist guild, but you have also set your sights on a magical maiden's life!" He said as he dramatically pointed at the static faced magical girl head poking out of the rubble.
"Take notes, my magical girl apprentice! This is the kind of energy I need you to bring for our next performance!" said the static face to the grand alchemist.
"LIKE HELL I WILL! I AM NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN!" Riku screamed at Nox.
"Then I guess there will be no concert on the moon this year! *sigh* What a pity!"
"WHAT?! I mean, FEAR NOT MAGICAL MAIDEN, THIS GREAT DETECTIVE WILL VANQUISH THIS EVIL FROM THE WORLD, SO THAT YOU MAY SING YOUR SONGS OF PEACE AMONGST THE STARS ONCE MORE!!!" Akira shouted in a fluster as he pulled out a long jade katana.
*Swoosh*
*Stab*
He then cut of Midori's head before stabbing his blade into her dantien in one fluent motion, killing her and destroying her core in an instant.
"Why are you posing like that?" Riku asked in confusion.
"Now, with the evil corrupting your mind gone, I expect you to go escort this fine magical alchemist to the 2nd moon and do whatever she says! Have I made myself clear?!" He said to Riku before he pulled out his blade from the corpse and pierced it through Midori's severed head.
*Gulp*
And that was how Ono Riku, one of the best alchemists on the continent, was pressured by his chunibyo boss into becoming the sidekick of the magical alchemist girl Su.
