Brat number 2's POV:
I am so screwed. The mad professor's great plan was pure asinine. His plan was to pay my tuition out of his own pockets, then after he was supposed to convince the principal to select me for Walpurgisnacht, where I would look for a backer that could shelter me from my father's wrath. That was his plan.
I have no idea why he thought he could convince an arch mage to recommend me to Walpurgisnacht, but whatever he had in mind didn't work. So, he opted to have me participate in the selection event held by the academy while he used his status as a professor to stall my expulsion for as long as he could. Meanwhile, he also caused any number of incidents that nearly got him fired.
I'm starting to think whatever is causing that professors madness is infectious, as I'm noticing my own thoughts turning weird, as I have for some reason chosen to stake my life on this plan of his.
"Hey! Shinji, I heard you want to be selected for Walpurgisnacht. Huh? Are you crying?"
Damn it! Ever since Christmas, I've lost all control of my tear ducts.
"It's nothing! You want something?"
"Oh! Right! I wanted to know which selection event we should enter?"
"We?"
Just then I noticed that Aiko was standing behind Kenji. She has such a tiny frame, it becomes hard to see her if she stands behind the pile of muscle that is Kenji.
"Did you know that the boss is going to leave the academy soon? His job contract ends this year, but with all the pranks he's pulling he might get fired before then."
"Your point is?"
"You've seen the boss, so I don't need to tell you how amazing he is right."
"Amazing? I guess he is. Though I think he is a lot weirder than he is amazing."
"Well, you're not wrong, but that's beside the point. What I'm trying to say is, we want to leave with him!"
"Why would anyone want to spend more time with our mad boss? Did that stick scramble your brains!"
"You know, a lot of things have changed here because of him. A year ago, we from class F weren't even treated like people, but now look at us. There isn't a student in this academy who would dare treat us like garbage, all because of him. That's why me and Aiko are going to ask him to take us in as disciples after winning Walpurgisnacht."
"What?"
"Walpurgisnacht is a guaranteed stamp of approval from every mage in the world. Even the boss would have to accept if we asked after winning Walpurgisnacht. So, since you're doing the same thing, we were hoping to know-"
"Just stop! I'm not doing this, to get that mad professor's attention. I'm in the spellcaster division, so if you're with Aiko in the enchantment division than I won't be seeing you." I said as I walked away.
I can't understand why anyone would spend another day with that guy by choice. It's like they've forgotten the torture he's subjected us to since day one. Damn, why won't my eyes stop.
