She widened her eyes, her breathing became heavy. Her hands instinctively snatched the baby dragon into her arms, flipping him around and checking him.
He hadn't fully recovered, just a little bit more. Cassias froze before he squirmed in her embrace. He swallowed. "It's really me. I still can't take the human form right now…"
"You finally regained consciousness." Zerra heaved a sigh of relief. It felt as if a huge boulder had been lifted from both her shoulders.
She clutched her forehead, taking some deep breaths. "Cassias… I really don't know what I would do if you never regained your consciousness again."
Looking at her stressed face, his heart sting. The awkwardness of waking up and finding himself in the baby dragon form was gone. He used his claw to reach for her arms, rubbing it softly.
Zerra turned to him again with narrowed eyes. "You have a lot of explaining to do."
