She was stunned. Her mouth parted, and her eyes went wide.
Almost she thought she had misheard.
"That's a strange name." Laziel commented with wide eyes. "If you pronounce it correctly, isn't that similar to Zerra's nickname at home?"
Cassias raised his eyebrows. It took him a while before he answered. "Maybe."
"That can't be right…" he sent Cassias a complicated gaze. "Or are you saying that Zerra is as cunning as a fox? She is anything but cunning. Her brain wouldn't be able to conjure clever tricks…"
Usually, Zerra would be annoyed if she heard Laziel's last sentence, but she was too engrossed in her emotions to care. Currently, she was in a fright.
Why did she feel that Cassias was always testing her? Perhaps because she never appeared in front of him at the same time in both human and fox form?
