Amara's expression remained the same as she casually said, "It would be a lot better to die to the beasts than being forced by that bastard."

He took out a scroll from his armor and opened it as he finished his sentence, "...I can master this Basic Mana Manipulation Technique before we face the tide."
"This… How did you get this?" asked Amara, surprised upon seeing it was one of the few magic spells available in their family's library.
She was surprised to see it in his hand because only those who were mages were allowed to peruse them and that too inside the library as taking any magic spell scroll or book out of the library was strictly forbidden.
