After carefully comparing the contents of the travelogue with the reality of Trier along the way, Fullen found that he had already arrived at Tesson Street.
The long walk home made him feel a little foolish for not taking a carriage, but remembering that he had no social obligations or urgent matters, he relaxed and treated it as an opportunity to familiarize himself with Trier's road layout.
Just as Fullen was about to insert his key into the door lock and push the door open, a sudden fluctuation rippled through his spirituality.
He paused.
His gaze shifted toward the mailbox—something he had almost never used since coming to this world.
Looking at the red metal mailbox, Fullen approached it. He casually glanced around, pretending to be unconcerned, before extending his right hand toward it.
If one looked closely, they would notice that Fullen held no key in his hand—only a thin piece of paper.
The mailbox had only one opening, located at the front.
Yet Fullen pressed his hand firmly against the back of the mailbox, sandwiching the paper between his palm and the metal surface.
As his spirituality flowed in a way incomprehensible to ordinary people, his right hand seemed to pass through the solid metal effortlessly.
When he attempted to withdraw his hand, however, an awkward problem arose.
The envelope inside could not pass through the mailbox.
Fullen did not panic. He simply increased the spread of his spirituality, extending it to cover the envelope as well.
This time, the envelope followed his hand smoothly and emerged from the mailbox.
Fullen was momentarily surprised, then quickly understood.
"If I can pass through an obstruction while wearing clothes, then other objects can also pass through…It just requires more spirituality to maintain."
He nodded slightly, committing the thought to memory.
"I'll experiment with this later."
Turning back, Fullen returned to the main door.
Looking at the sturdy lock, he revealed a faint, unreadable smile.
As his spirituality shifted into a different operating pattern, the lock detached naturally, as if loosened by an invisible hand, and fell to the ground like a ripe apple.
Entering the house, Fullen recalled the abilities of an Apprentice.
The core ability was "Open the Door," which manifested in three forms.
The first allowed him to partially shift into another state, passing directly through a "door."This consumed a great deal of spirituality. At his current level, he could only use it twice when covering his whole body.
The second method created a dark blue door upon an existing one, allowing passage through it.This consumed less spirituality and could currently be used three times—though he could not bring others.
The third method opened locks without obstruction or damage. This required the least spirituality and could be used many times.
He had used the first method to retrieve the envelope and the third to open his door.
Aside from these, the Apprentice potion granted only modest benefits: slightly enhanced spirituality, mild physical improvement, and improved memory.
According to records, an Apprentice could open Spiritual Vision, but unlike a Seer, could not perceive health or emotions.
Most importantly, an Apprentice's abilities could only act upon doors.
The paper he had used earlier was a lifelike drawing of a door.
It had been passed down through the Freeman Family—indestructible, yet containing no Beyonder characteristics.
On its back was an indistinct name, instinctively understood:
"Gabriel Abraham."
A direct ancestor of the family, fallen during the War of the Four Emperors.
He had been an Angel in life.
After securing the door, Fullen carried the letter upstairs to the study on the second floor.
Lighting several candles in the spacious, moonlit room, he sat down and cut open the wax seal with a small knife.
Even before opening it, he recognized the crest.
It belonged to the Abraham Family.
The sender could only be one person—the Abraham Family's representative in Trier, Elder Crow, who had already digested the Astrologer potion.
Naturally, members of the Abraham Family did not use the surname Abraham in public.
Fullen's legal name was Fullen Freeman.
As for Elder Crow, his public identity was Lucien Crow, a well-known merchant in Trier and the proprietor of Crow Mall, a marketplace dealing in exotic goods from across the Northern Continent.
The Crow Family owned ten merchant caravans that traveled constantly between regions.Even in Trier, Lucien Crow was considered a wealthy man.
Fullen read the letter.
"…An Abraham Family member in Trier has been exposed. His Beyonder abilities were discovered by a suspected member of a True God Church during an Extraordinary Gathering.
Although he escaped, several letters he had written were seized. These letters mentioned his Abraham identity and claimed that the number of Abraham members in Trier exceeds ten.
The local True God Church and military forces have begun an extensive search…"
"…Given the current situation, and to welcome the birth of our second Astrologer in Trier, I have decided to convene a family gathering on July 8th.
To ensure that the Abraham Family does not forget the glory of its ancestors, certain arrangements will be prepared…"
After finishing the letter, Fullen frowned.
Leaning back in his chair, he reviewed its contents carefully.
Something felt wrong.
"The tone is calm," he thought, "but the handwriting is messier than usual."
He was certain of it.
"If only the number of family members had been exposed, there would be no need for a gathering.A warning letter would have sufficed."
Another thought followed.
"Has Elder Crow himself been exposed?"
That was possible. As the family's handler, his existence was known to every Abraham in Trier.
Or perhaps—
"Is he preparing to divide the remaining Abraham foundation in Trier and scatter everyone?"
If that was the case…
Fullen's expression darkened.
In past gatherings, even though members wore iron masks, their physiques and accents were exposed.
If even one person were divined—
"Then I'd have no choice but to flee Trier…flee Intis…and become a wanted criminal."
He pinched the bridge of his nose.
The situation was dangerous.
Worse still, if all Abraham members in Trier were eliminated, he would lose access to Sequence 6 and Sequence 5 formulas, let alone materials.
Demigodhood would become impossible.
"Strength…"
If he were already a demigod, a sweep of this scale would not matter.
The churches would not lightly provoke a family that had once produced Angels and still possessed a high-level Beyonder—especially one that had withdrawn from worldly affairs.
Which meant—
"The information that the Abraham Family has no demigod…and very few mid-Sequence members…has likely leaked long ago."
Recalling that he was still digesting the Apprentice potion, Fullen slowly calmed himself.
For now, worry was useless.
What he needed was strength.
And so, Fullen began once more to carefully study his abilities.
