Reincarnating into the world of Marvel is honestly terrifying.
Sadly, it happened to me around 18 years ago, and now I am stuck in this world.
From what I have observed so far, it is a mix of MCU, comics and other Marvel movies.
It is currently 2007.
Since Captain America and Tony Stark are as I remember from MCU, but there is Oscorp with classic Spider-Man's Norman Osborn.
Actually, the entire cast of classic Spider-Man is in this world, with Peter being in the same age group as me.
There are also Reed Richards and Dr Doom in this universe. One is a bankrupt scientist, and the other is the owner of Doom Industries. He is probably working on gathering funds for overthrowing the dictatorship in Latveria right now.
Anyway, as for myself, not so thankfully, I was born into a middle class family.
And both of my parents died in a terrorist attack while visiting India.
So right now, I am tutoring Harry Osborn from my class, and they pay is good.
So, with no issues in the money part right now, I have been focusing on trying to get superpowers.
And I have had zero progress so far.
Aside from learning magic, of course. Though I have only managed to learn how to use a sling ring to create a portal by now.
I am not a mutant. I don't have any extra gene. I don't know if this world even has mutants. There is no publically available information on them.
But the brains of this world are different from my previous world. There is something empty in brain, which I think is the place where Mutant-gene appears.
According to my theory, the
Extremis, which isn't invented yet, is probably accessing this Blue Box and editing it as we like.
So, in theory, I can give myself powers.
Thankfully, I guess my brain of this life is really advanced. Or perhaps due to my adult soul, my brain thought that my thought process as a baby was normal newborn brain, and developed from there at the same rate as normal humans, but with a different starting point?
I don't know what's the reason.
I am really good at biology. I was a doctor, neurosurgeon to be exact, in my past life. So I am pursuing the same thing really further in this life.
I have been studying cats.
Cats are genetically closer to humans than mice. Around 90% close, especially in the matters of brain.
They have really well developed brain and nervous system. Their reflexes are well known. They have insane spatial awareness, their bones heal fast.
Most importantly, they have very good immune system and don't really have effects of aging until the last stages of their lives.
So, I am working on acquiring cat-powers.
But, I haven't been able to get hold of radiation. Of course I wouldn't be able to with just tutoring a spoiled billionaire's kid.
Radiation is generally deadly. But not in the case of Marvel. Hulk, Spider-Man...
Well, I will first test them on my tissues in a contained and safe space first before trying to get bitten by a radioactive cat.
I don't think I even need to test out a radioactive cat. I am smart enough that I have almost figured it out.
Though there is a possibility that like Dr Connors turned into a lizard in the future, I might turn into a cat.
That's why I have learnt a bit of mystic arts and have good relationship with Ancient One. I can just ask her to use Time Stone on me if something goes wrong.
Well, I have a magical backing. But I need a good real world backing for myself to be able to start human experimentation.
Anyway, leaving these thoughts aside, why the hell am I meeting the future Green Goblin, Norman Osborn right now!?
Seriously, this man gives me the creeps.
In the 5 star restaurant he has invited me to, I looked at the menu while squinting my eyes.
What the hell is this gibberish? French? Italian? Spanish? German? I don't know.
Honestly, I would have preferred some American food. Like Pizza, Burger or just noodles.
Still, I recognised one thing on the menu. I think I saw it in Oggy and the Cockroaches in my past life.
Caviar.
"This. Only a little bit."
Norman complemented my choice.
"You have good taste."
"Umm, it was the only thing I recognised in the menu."
It's really expensive. Might as well try it since a billionaire is treating me.
He chuckled and then came to the topic.
"Harry's grades have improved. But..."
I nodded.
"Honestly, I think he should focus on getting hands-on experience in handling business. I can make sure that he gets decent marks. But he will just forget about things he learnt when tests are over because he isn't interested in that. Science isn't his thing."
Harry was forced to choose science major. Because his father is a scientist. And not just some small time scientist. He is really good in physics, chemistry and biology as well. He started Oscorp himself and made it one of USA's top defence company.
Harry, on the other hand, is just a normal guy with a lot of money and Daddy issues.
I expected Norman to make a face as I made the suggestion, but he surprisingly nodded.
"Yeah. Harry's a disappointment."
Oh. I thought too soon.
"Sir, he is a good guy. Not everyone is built the same. My father was good in IT, but I am a completely disappointment in that field. Everyone has things they are good at, and things they are terrible at."
"So, what is Harry good at?"

"He is social. It takes real talent to be able to talk to so many people and not get exhausted. Most people can't do it."
"That's just because he is my son, and everyone wants to get close and take advantage of him. Besides you and Peter, I don't think he has any real friends."
I wanted to say MJ, but she is a complete bitch.
"Honestly, I asked you to meet me today because I want to ask you about something concerning. I heard Harry talking on phone to a girl named MJ.
I searched her background, and she is the girlfriend of a bully named Flash.
Do you know what is the relationship between Harry and MJ?"
I hesitated. Few days ago, I tried to convince Harry to stop trying to impress MJ and focus on his studies. I called her a bitch, and he has been grumpy ever since.
Should I really tell Norman?
...Well... my money actually comes from him. If he thinks that I am hiding things, he will just fire me and hire someone else as a tutor. I can't afford to do that.
"MJ is a total bitch. And she is trying to get Harry because he is rich. We had a fight when I tried to stop him from coming in contact with her.
...I think you shouldn't force him to stay away from her though. He will just rebel and get closer to her.
She will ruin his life."
He nodded.
"Then, why don't you get engaged to Harry?"
"WHAT!?"
