Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: Sentinels Raid the Hydra Base

Stab!

Another knife plunged into Deadpool's body.

"Couldn't you at least say something before stabbing me?" Wade protested, glaring at the long gash in his stomach.

"Okay. Ray of Humiliating Failure!" Alan raised a hand and cast a healing light on him. While Wade's regeneration was impressive, it still took time. A skill was much faster.

Snap!

An angel was summoned.

BOOM!

Negasonic Teenage Warhead immediately charged forward, her body exploding with energy, instantly vaporizing the angel into a cloud of white light. Alan then cast Guardian's Embrace, Light Guard, and Holy Flame Power on Ellie, Pietro, Illyana, and Yukio.

He then walked over to Kurt. "Blue Elf, have you talked to that girl from the other day?"

"I…" Nightcrawler's face fell.

"Hmph… not even a simp," Alan scoffed.

"…" The hurtful words made Kurt hang his head, on the verge of tears.

"Boob Shame Ray!" Alan cast a Cleansing Light, healing Kurt's broken heart. His mournful expression instantly brightened.

"Take five," Alan said, then turned back to Wade, butcher knife in hand.

"Wait, I'm not ready—"

Stab!

Another knife to the kidney. "Can't you pick another spot?!" Wade roared. "I feel like my kidneys are sliced in half!"

Stab!

"No problem. Ray of Humiliating Failure!" Alan pulled out the knife, healed Wade, and snapped his fingers again. From the portal of light emerged a stunningly beautiful angel with cascading blonde hair, clad in revealing white and gold three-point battle armor, wielding a golden spear like a Valkyrie ready for war.

"Hold on a sec!"

Shing!

Before Alan could stop her, Illyana had already struck, her Soulsword instantly vaporizing the angel.

"The jealousy between women is truly terrifying," Alan lamented, disappointed that he hadn't had a chance to admire the angel's beauty. It was his first time summoning a female angel, and he was quite curious.

"Do you have a problem with that?" Illyana shot him a sidelong glance.

"Of course not. Besides you, all other women are dirt."

The moment the words left his mouth, a chill ran down Alan's spine. Two murderous glares pierced him. He looked back to see Ellie and Yukio staring daggers at him.

"What are you looking at? You two don't count as women," Alan said, delicately holding up his hand. "We're all girls here. We should stick together."

Who the hell is a girl with you? You're having a gender identity crisis!

Pietro burst out laughing. Alan's prissy act was hilarious.

"What are you laughing at, you old man? You haven't had the guts to acknowledge your father for all this time!" Alan snapped back mercilessly.

Pietro's smile vanished, replaced by a look of sorrow, then brewing anger.

"Boob Shame Ray!" A Cleansing Light washed over Pietro, soothing his troubles.

Five minutes had passed. The Cleansing Light's immunity to negative effects had worn off. Alan turned back to Kurt. "Let's play rock, paper, scissors." He then looked pointedly at Kurt's hands. "Oh, right. You only have three fingers. You can't make paper."

"Waaaah…" Kurt was done. He couldn't take it anymore. He burst into tears.

After days of data analysis, Skynet finally pinpointed the mutants' location.

"Hydra still exists, and they've teamed up with the mutants. They are undoubtedly a destabilizing factor for society."

The display screen showed several coordinates and a wealth of information. The five chiefs were stunned. Hydra was supposed to have been dismantled after World War II, yet they had secretly resurrected and grown stronger on American soil.

Trask added fuel to the fire. "I have reason to believe that the mutants have been cooperating with Hydra for a long time, which is how they've infiltrated various government agencies."

"It's certainly possible. This is a good opportunity to eliminate both threats once and for all."

"Indeed. We must purge Hydra. They almost bombed our homeland in the past. There's nothing those madmen won't do."

"If we succeed in eliminating this threat, we can consolidate more power."

"…"

The five chiefs spoke freely in front of Trask, whom they considered a puppet capitalist under their control. Trask, however, was filled with contempt for the politicians' posturing. But his ambitions were great, and for now, he had to play along to secure more funding. Trask Industries couldn't produce the Sentinels on its own. Each Sentinel cost ten million dollars, and many key raw materials were restricted by government import regulations. To increase production, he needed the support of those in power. The last Sentinel legion had cost a billion dollars, far beyond what a private company could afford.

"Doctor, how many Sentinels do we have now?"

Trask pulled up the warehouse surveillance feed. "Three hundred Sentinels are ready for deployment."

"Raid the Hydra base immediately."

In a remote, rocky mountain range, a metal gate disguised as a rock face slid open. Rectangular transport ships, fully loaded with Sentinel robots, took off.

Inside the Hydra base, now occupied by mutants.

The human personnel had already been evacuated. The mutants trusted no one.

'Warning, unidentified targets approaching!'

'Warning, unidentified targets approaching!'

'Warning, unidentified targets approaching!'

The alert roused everyone from their rest. In the control hub, Hank saw that the other bases were already under attack. Charles immediately contacted Apocalypse, requesting aid for the students at the other bases. Multiple bases being attacked simultaneously caught the shorthanded mutant elites off guard. The base they were in, however, seemed less critical.

BOOM!

The first level of the base was breached. Sentinel robots poured in through the opening. Soon, battles erupted on every floor.

"Oh yeah! More XP to grind!" Alan charged towards the Sentinels, butcher knife in hand.

In a corridor, three Sentinels on patrol came face to face with him.

"Target identified. T-800 Terminator initiating extermination protocol. Ka-ka-ka…"

The three Sentinels' algorithms seemed to lag as Alan mimicked a robot's jerky movements, walking towards them.

Alan scanned them up and down, then spoke in a synthesized electronic voice: "Database cannot parse target model. Beep-boop-beep-boop. Transmitting feedback to the main brain."

Is he insane? Why is he imitating a robot?

One of the Sentinels' faces opened, preparing a high-temperature beam to vaporize him. Trask had already marked Alan as a high-priority target.

BOOM!

A scorching beam of light hit Alan. A white light flashed around him. At the critical moment, Guardian's Embrace blocked the fatal blow. Alan's face registered disbelief.

"I almost died! Are you trying to end this book?!"

With a swift slash, the Sentinel that had attacked him was killed.

"Come and get me! Hehehehe…"

Having scored a hit, Alan turned and fled. With the Sentinels' vulnerabilities patched, he couldn't mindlessly grind XP anymore. Currently, Alan's physical attributes were about thirty-three times that of a normal human, with a strength of less than four tons. A direct confrontation with a Sentinel was suicide. And a stealth attack was out of the question. They undoubtedly had thermal imaging. With so much money spent, why would they skimp on one component?

Cornered, Alan found himself in a dead end with four Sentinels closing in. Suddenly, a mysterious smile appeared on his face.

Snap!

With a snap of his fingers, he summoned five angels to his aid. He then cast Guardian's Embrace, Light Guard, and Holy Flame Power on them. One of them, a Cherub, raised its scepter and cast a light spell on the other four angels. As the four Sentinels attacked, the four battle angels met them head-on with their greatswords.

In the first exchange, the battle angels were at a disadvantage, easily suppressed by the Sentinels.

"Down!" Alan commanded the Cherub to kneel. He then used its shoulder as a springboard, flipping over the Sentinels' heads. As he passed over them, his butcher knife was coated in a shadowy edge, slicing through a Sentinel's head like tofu. The Rogue's Shadow Blade skill, which boosted his damage by 100%, had come in handy.

Having taken out one Sentinel, Alan turned to the other three. With the Sentinels occupied by the battle angels, they couldn't react in time. In a series of fluid motions, his butcher knife carved through their mechanical bodies.

"I really am a ruthless killer." Alan maintained a half-kneeling pose, slowly sheathing his butcher knife into its scabbard at his waist. After a long pause, he looked up abruptly.

"Damn it, there's no one here to see my cool pose." Alan waved his hand, summoning the five angels. "We must redeem the fallen lambs of the world," he declared grandly. "By roasting them whole."

In the base, the mutants were evacuating. Without a weapon that could effectively counter the Sentinels, they weren't willing to sacrifice their lives for a victory. Besides, their sacrifice would be meaningless. The Sentinels were endless, but their lives were not.

At this moment, the abilities of Nightcrawler and Magik were crucial. They were among the few mutants with teleportation abilities. Nightcrawler could transport several people at once to a place he had seen before. Magik's teleportation, though slightly unstable, was reliable enough in the human world to transport people to a safe base. The elite mutants in this base were few, and they were quickly evacuated.

"Have you seen Alan?" Illyana asked the others at another base. Everyone exchanged glances and shook their heads. They had all been busy escaping; no one had time to worry about a madman.

"I'll go back and get him," Illyana said, frustrated.

"Don't," Ellie stopped her. "The base is swarming with Sentinels. It's too risky."

"That's right," Yukio added. "The Sentinels don't kill humans. Alan will be fine." Remembering how Alan had slaughtered the Sentinels at the school, Illyana's worries subsided.

"Wait, there's a communication channel between the bases," Colossus reminded them. "If Alan deals with the trouble, he'll definitely send a message." No one dared to operate the equipment in the base now, fearing their signal would be tracked by the Sentinels.

On the other side, Jean Grey was at the base where the students were being housed. When Apocalypse arrived with Charles and the others, they were greeted by a horrifying sight…
