Aria's POV
"That message wasn't random."
Maya's voice sliced through the silence of the office. She slid her laptop across the desk toward me, her fingers still trembling from whatever she had just uncovered. I stared at the screen, my pulse skipping with every blink of the message in the center:
DON'T TRUST DAMON.
"It's Lila's voice, Maya. I'd know it anywhere." My hands trembled slightly as I reached out, touching the edge of the screen like it might somehow give me more answers. But all it gave was static. Unease.
Maya nodded grimly. "But it's not just that. The metadata is corrupted, scrambled deliberately. Someone didn't want us to trace this. Whoever did this had top-level access."
My heart sank into the pit of my stomach. "You're saying someone inside Westin Industries leaked Lila's location?" The words felt heavy, almost too much to say aloud.
