Aria's POV
"She should've woken up by now."
My voice cracked as I stared through the glass window into Lila's private hospital room. Machines beeped steadily, too steadily, as if mocking my anxiety.
Her tiny frame lay still on the sterile white sheets, a tangle of IV lines and oxygen tubes tethering her to life. She looked more like a science experiment than my baby sister.
Her chest rose and fell in shallow rhythm, but she didn't move, didn't blink. I pressed my palm to the glass, aching to touch her, to shake her awake.
"Come on, Lila," I whispered. "Fight. Please." But she just lay there—silent, slipping further away.
Damon stood beside me, arms folded, jaw tight. "You heard what the doctors said. Her vitals are strong. They're keeping her sedated for observation."
"Observation?" I snapped, spinning to face him. "She was kidnapped, drugged, and left in a warehouse like a discarded doll, Damon.
