The uniform itched.
Vira stood in front of the mirror, staring at the girl who stared back — neat, polished, composed. Not her. Not really.
The blazer felt too stiff. The pleated skirt brushed her knees just right, but it felt like armor she didn't ask for. The shoes pinched. The ribbon around her collar tugged at her throat like it knew the words she was too afraid to speak.
A maid had styled her hair gently, carefully — almost kindly. Powder concealed the dull ache under her eyes. Her lips were untouched, bare. A porcelain girl. A doll.
Dolls don't speak.
Her bag sat by the door. A black, perfect rectangle. No stickers. No personality. Just like everything else.
Downstairs, the carriage waited at the gate. The horses stood still. The driver smiled wide, unnerving, unfamiliar.
She placed her hand on the doorframe, just before leaving her room — pausing.
Maybe, just maybe…
She shut her eyes and whispered, so faintly not even the walls would remember it:
"Please... let this be a new start. And let me change myself."
And with that, Vira stepped out.
Damn school is going to be a bit overwhelming for Vira, I have a feeling but maybe she might find someone she can lean onto for once or even fall in love~
Who knows?
"Welcome girls and boys!" yelled the principal, welcoming each student with warm welcomes. Vira was trying to avoid her warm welcome; she didn't want others to even look at her but that backfired when the principal tapped on her shoulder.
"Welcome! You must be from the kingdom of hearts! Pleasure to meet you… hmm.." she thought for a second "Vira is it?" Vira slowly nodded, she didn't know what to do, she stood there, frozen and just nodding to whatever the principal's blabbering was.
WHOOSH-
Vira gets dragged by a student, the student was a beautiful bubble girl, she exclaimed excitedly "Hi there! Welcome to Roseveil Academy! Are you new here just like me?"
Wow, very bubbly… this girl..
She's the kind of girl who lights up the classroom the second she walks in — bubbly, bright, and full of energy. Her dark, silky hair is tied into a neat ponytail with a pink ribbon that bounces with every step. Her school uniform is crisp and clean: a white blouse, navy blazer, pleated skirt, and knee-high socks, all perfectly worn yet touched with her charm — maybe a cute pin or pastel scrunchie on her wrist.
Her skin is soft and glowing, cheeks always slightly rosy, and her big brown eyes sparkle like she's always on the verge of a giggle. She has a small button nose and a cheerful smile that practically beams sunshine. She skips instead of walks, always humming a tune or chatting with friends, her laughter trailing behind like petals in the wind.
Even when she's quiet, her presence is warm — like spring in school uniform form.
And then here's Vira
A girl who walks like elegance was stitched into her very being — Vira is the definition of refined. With her school uniform always pristine, not a crease out of place, she wears her polished blazer and pleated skirt like royal armor. Her shoes are perfectly shined, her socks pulled up just right, and even the silver crest on her chest gleams as if it knows who it belongs to.
A girl whose deep red, wavy hair flows like velvet fire, always tamed with intention — pinned neatly to the side with a dark ribbon that whispers of discipline and grace. Every strand seems to obey her presence.
A girl whose lavender-violet eyes shimmer like gemstones under moonlight — calm, unreadable, and endlessly captivating. When she looks your way, it feels less like being seen… and more like being studied.
Vira is not the kind of girl who tries to stand out.
She simply does.
This is giving, if the popular girl decided to make friends with the pretty quiet girl, this story would take a big twist if an extrovert is going to adopt the introvert (Vira).
But let's continue the story of course.
Vira slowly nods before saying "Yes I am new to this school…" The girl looked at her with sparkles in her eyes before saying "Omg really? Same as me! My name is Yuna Marivelle, what about you? What's your name?"
Vira never really faced this type of affection before or is it even affection?
She hesitates to say her name but eventually she slowly says it "It's um…" She mumbles her name but Yuna couldn't hear so Yuna softly told Vira to say her name a bit louder because she can't understand what Vira is saying "umm.. Can you say your name a bit louder?..." Yuna asks softly, Vira takes up all the courage she has to say her name "My name is… Vira Seravière…" Yuna smiles and she changes the tone of her voice soft to reassure Vira "That's an amazing name Vira! I love it" Vira eyes widen slightly and she feels a hammer hammering her heart, not in a bad way but in like.. A good way?
She doesn't see it but Yuna does, Vira's a bit flustered! How cute!
Yuna giggles "You do realise you're flustered, right?" Vira stuttered "Oh! I-I am?.. I-Is it obvious?.. Well of course it's o-ob-obvious! You see me flustered.." Yuna tries to hold in a laugh, she leans close and asks Vira a question "C'mon, let's go to our class before we become late" Vira nods before saying "Yeah.. alright…"
Yuna grabs her hand and leads her to class, both of them walking beside each other, holding hands. Vira's thoughts filled her head like "Wait.. Why am I feeling like this? This isn't what I plan my first day to be! She's really cute and very nice but the thing is… Why am I feeling like this? Is this normal? I shouldn't be feeling this! I just met her!..." she whines inside "What do I have to do with this feeling? WHAT IS THIS FEELING?!"
As Yuna and Vira take one step inside their classroom chatter and joy is immediately filled in the air (And it was very noisy in the classroom) Vira didn't know what to feel about this but Yuna felt normal, she look like as if this always happen in her life, Vira ponders "Why does she act like as if this is normal? Is it?"
Vira felt uneasy with the noise but Yuna as always softly spoke to her "Are you okay? Or do you not like the loud noise?"
I mean I would've said I'm not really that much of a social butterfly and I don't encounter this much noise but for Vira?
She took one glance at Yuna and immediately felt safe, her hand was still in hers, Vira nodded slowly "Yeah.. I'm fine with this I guess.." Yuna smiled with gentle joy and led Vira and herself in the middle row near the window, Vira was sitting next to the window while Yuna sat next to her. "I'm not holding her hand… I want to hold her hand…" Vira thought but immediately brought up with "Wait! Why am I thinking about her this way?! I barely know her! I need to not let myself lose my guard, I need - I must keep my guard up! This… This is not how I expect everything to go in my FIRST SCHOOL DAY!"
Poor Vira panicking in her head while Yuna over here is just being herself and wondering if Vira is okay, what a nice and sweet girl Yuna is to be honest..
That's the type of friend Vira needs, she's really lucky, seems like this is where the petals start to bloom beautifully and now here is the bee, attracted to its beautiful petals even if their thorns might hurt them like their stinger.
The door swings open, a teacher walks inside, he stands in front of the whole class, he stands like a shadow carved from glass—sharp, smooth, impossible to ignore. More CEO than teacher, every thread of his dark suit fit like armor, silver cufflinks gleaming with cold precision. His watch ticked quietly, counting secrets only he knew.
Hair swept perfectly, glasses framing eyes that missed nothing. Not cold, but patient—waiting silently before striking. His voice was calm, words measured; one glance was enough to silence chaos.
And it did, the class noise slowly faded and payed attention to their new teacher in this polished school, the teacher speak in a deep (but not that deep) and monotone voice "Morning students and welcome to Roseveil school, I'm your teacher for this year, you may call me Mr Viremont."
Yuna slowly and gently took her hand out of Vira's hand "Why did she let go of me?..." Vira realises again about what she just thought "No, no, NO! I'm not supposed to like her! I don't know her, nor do I want to know, she's just someone I might not need.."
Mr Viremont noticed Vira seemed a bit distracted and then he announced his voice, projecting his voice louder "Can we listen and pay attention please?" Vira's bubble popped open, she remembered to pay attention not get distracted on Yuna, Vira immediately look to Mr Viremont, he was narrowing his eyes to her, Vira looked back at him with a look of 'sorry' and Mr Viremont nodded and continued on "Since all of you are either new to each other or friends, all of you will be introducing yourself in front of the class." Whispers started to happen around the students, one whisper was a bit too loud… "Seriously? Do we have to do this?"
"Maybe you'll be the first one to do it" Mr Viremont really came with a huge comeback!
The student turned stiff and straightened their back and shook their head like they were about to die soon "Sorry Mr Viremont! I won't do it again!" he whines quietly enough for Mr Viremont to hear "Please don't choose me to be first…" Mr Viremont sighs "Alright, I won't make you go first…" He looks at the students in the front row "The front row is going first and then we'll go our way till the back."
HEY READERS! Miss the narrator (me) talking to you? Okay but lowkey hear me out Mr Viremont, JUST HEAR ME OUT GUYS!
Wait a damn minute… you guys wanna go back to the story??? Not me talking to you guys???
Bruh.
Students in the front row groaned as they were mentioned to go first. "Keep complaining, sure, it seems like the front row is the only row going to introduce themselves, the rest of you guys don't have to do it, only the front row students." The front row students immediately zipped their mouths, "Is it that horrible to introduce yourselves? Just say your name and age then wrap it up…" wondered Vira.
No one in the front row wanted to start first, Vira turned her head to Yuna and saw Yuna glowing and putting her hand up high in the air, Vira stunned and whispered to Yuna "Yuna it's not our row! What are you doing?!" Yuna whispers back "I just want to volunteer and help everyone's confidence about introducing yourself! Also I think it's a bit fun to introduce yourself to everyone!" Vira leaning back on her chair and muttering to herself "At least someone is volunteering…" Mr Viremont noticed Yuna's hand shooting up in the air, he raised an eyebrow "You want to go first?" Yuna grins wide "Yes! I don't mind being first!" Mr Viremont thought about it for a sec until he said "Go ahead, come up in front of the class and introduce yourself." Yuna immediately stood up from her chair and walked straight in front of the class. Whispers around the students happened again, whispers like "She seems to be happy… about introducing herself? Isn't this unnecessary? It's kinda boring to be honest but whatever."
A little spark of fire raged inside Vira, "Is this what being angry feels like? It feels… uncomfortable but yet also nice for some reason, but these girls should shut their mouth or they might be one in front of the class introducing themselves." Vira thought in her head.
OMG not Vira being the protective one, love this relationship happening lowkey, wonder if they get together, and if you guys out there be like "Wait maybe Vira would be nice with a man? So this doesn't have to be LGBTQ?" man do you see her 'father'? The only men she might as well trust is either Mr Viremont or her brother, Vireo, so SHUSH and let Vira choose her own choice and fate barging in at some random times. Let's get back to the story since I know you guys don't want me to ramble random stuff.
Mr Viremont shushed the students whispering "Those who are whispering, keep whispering then you'll be kicked out of my class." The students zipped their mouths and all eyes were on either Yuna or Mr Viremont.
"Go ahead kid, introduce yourself." Yuna nodded in excitement and something magnetic about her got everyone's attention "Pleasure to meet all you! I'm Yuna Marivelle! I'm 12 years old and I'm from the kingdom of Freedom! (Yes, those who know, I might as well add a bit of Genshin Impact reference, cause why not?) Hope we all can be friends!" Mr Viremont did a nod of 'well done' he spoke to Yuna "Good job Yuna, go back to your seat now and tell your.." His eyes scan the crowd of students sitting down and one he placed his onto, Vira "Tell your red haired friend to come up to the class now."
Ooh.. Damn I lowkey feel like Vira is going to vibe with Mr Viremont cause they just give off the vibe like "shut up, do your work and behave or I'm throwing you outside from the window." Love this dynamic that might as well happen soon like right now.
