After the girl walked into the room, she came to Shihouin Kongchan and sat down cross-legged, displaying no trace of noble etiquette. When she saw the wine placed in front of Shihouin Kongchan, her eyes sparkled. She instinctively reached out, trying to pour herself a bowl.
"Huh?" Shihouin Kongchan gave the girl a glance, prompting her to smile awkwardly and quickly pull her hand back. Unable to drink in front of her grandfather left her a bit deflated.
After all, she had no choice but to come this time. Now that her grandfather had already caught her sneaking around, if she didn't show up, he'd definitely settle the score with her later.
Her eyes moved to Gosuke Shigure, the man who had effortlessly caught her earlier.
The girl praised Gosuke Shigure with a teasing tone, "Your Shunpo is really impressive."

"You're wearing a captain's haori⊠So that means you're one of the Gotei 13 Captains. If I remember correctly, there's only one Captain named Gosuke."
"You must be the current Eleventh Division Captain, Kenpachi Gosuke."
Even though she hadn't formally entered the Shin'Ć Academy yet, the Shihouin family's noble heritage ensured she received elite instruction from a young age. Her grandfather had personally educated her in the basics of Soul Society, including the Gotei 13's structure.
She was well aware of what the title Kenpachi meant.
Before Gosuke Shigure could respond, Yoruichi quickly turned to Shihouin Kongchan and praised, "Grandpa, not bad! You actually brought Kenpachi over for drinks."
"Hey now, Miss Yoruichi, that's not fair," Kyoraku Shunsui interjected with mock indignation. "JĆ«shirĆ and I are here too, you know! Didn't you see us?"
Yoruichi gave him a sidelong glance. "You have the nerve to say that? You bring Captain Ukitake over all the time just to drink. And he can't even drink much because of his illness."
"In the end, you drink all the best wine."
"Originally, if you two hadn't been drinking it all, it would have been mine in the future."
"Miss Yoruichi, that's slander!" Kyoraku Shunsui defended himself. "Your grandfather, Captain Shihouin, clearly drinks his fair share."
Shihouin Yoruichi blinked, then turned toward her grandfather. "Grandpa, you really should drink less. It's not good for your health."
Shihouin Kongchan raised an eyebrow with a half-smile. "I bet you just want me to stop drinking so you can have it all yourself."
Surprisingly, Yoruichi didn't deny it. "Exactly."
"Hmph!"
Shihouin Kongchan snorted. "Forget it. I'll drink every last drop myself â don't think I'll leave any behind."
"Ah! No way!" Yoruichi exclaimed in mock despair, a dramatic flair in her tone.
The whole exchange gave Gosuke Shigure a clearer view of the Shihouin family dynamic â casual, bold, even a bit chaotic, yet filled with genuine closeness.
JĆ«shirĆ Ukitake and Kyoraku Shunsui clearly knew Yoruichi well and were already used to these interactions. But to Gosuke Shigure, who was meeting her for the first time, the scene was both unexpected and entertaining.
He glanced at Shihouin Kongchan and commented, "The way you and Miss Yoruichi interact is quite⊠unique, Captain Shihouin."
Shihouin Kongchan sighed, shaking his head. "Don't remind me. This girl's been a constant headache."
Gosuke Shigure replied sincerely, "If your heart aches, that only proves you care. If you didn't, there'd be nothing to worry about."
Shihouin Kongchan blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the honest observation. Then he chuckled softly without denying it.
Yoruichi, still unable to drink in front of her grandfather, could only suppress her desire. She turned her attention back to Gosuke Shigure.
"You really are Kenpachi. You caught me so easily earlier. Your Shunpo is far beyond mine â even better than Grandpa's."
"At least, he's missed me plenty of times."
Since she couldn't drink, she didn't mind stirring the pot by throwing her grandfather under the bus.
Shihouin Kongchan, a man who cared about appearances, immediately countered, "I let you go because you're my granddaughter! Otherwise, there's no way you'd have escaped."
"Really? I don't buy it." Yoruichi eyed him skeptically.
This only irritated Shihouin Kongchan more. She was clearly doing it on purpose â teasing him in front of outsiders, knowing it would get a rise out of him.
Gosuke Shigure quickly jumped in, trying to diffuse the tension. "Captain Shihouin's skill in Shunpo is well known throughout the Gotei. Even though I've trained hard in Shunpo, I still have much to learn when compared to you."
Hearing this, Shihouin Kongchan finally eased up. He gave a modest nod and responded, "You're being humble. Captain Gosuke's Shunpo is truly exceptional."
The two captains exchanged pleasantries for a while.
Then, Shihouin Kongchan casually brought something up to Gosuke Shigure.
"Since Yoruichi holds your Shunpo in such high regard and thinks it even surpasses mine, perhaps you'd be willing to guide her a little?"
"This child has always been drawn to Shunpo and Hakuda â and she does have talent."
"As the current Kenpachi, your mastery in these fields is undoubtedly beyond extraordinary."
With that, he directly requested Gosuke Shigure to take Yoruichi under his wing.
Upon hearing this, Gosuke Shigure recalled what Kyoraku Shunsui had said to him during a private drink some time ago.
