JUNE'S POV
Immediately after school, my phone buzzed.
Dad.
"Hey, sweetheart. Change of plans. The job's been moved to today. They rescheduled."
I nearly screamed. "Today? Are you serious?"
I was halfway out of my uniform, hoping for a nap and the leftover pancakes we go from Sunny after school.
"Why do I have to work today?" I groaned, grabbing my cleaning kit anyway.
But no use complaining. Since it's just me and Dad, we go house to house doing cleaning jobs for rich people. Our little two-man (okay, one-man, one-girl) cleaning team.
No siblings. No backup. Just clients, mops, and prayers.
It pays okay. Still sucks.
I stood in front of the house and blinked twice.
Is this the place?
I was standing in front of the biggest mansion I'd ever seen. It looked like the kind of house influencers fake lives in for YouTube videos….glass everywhere, shiny floors, tall walls, and doors that opened like magic.
