"Why is the glitch counting down?" William wondered out loud , his eyes brows were furrowed and he looked more confused than worried.
"Glitch?" The boy said, sounding even more confused and worried than William.
"Yeah, what's yours doing?" The boy shook his head and said, "i don't think I… No wait, I've gotta check again."
William watched him as he looked around anxiously searching through his guide, then he stopped and said, "i don't have anything like that, let me see it."
"How did you even learn to do this anyways?" Willaim said as he placed his hand on his shoulder.
"It's in the info section of the guide." He stared at the screen, "that's odd," he said as he scanned it thoroughly.
William was getting the impression that these weren't secrets you'd share with just anyone, afterall if they were, it wouldn't require giving others permission to see it.
Willaim wasn't sure at the time but he was getting a good feel for the world he was about to enter, information like could be used against you and William wasn't one to just trust anyone but still he had a good feeling about this kid, so he dismissed the thought.
"I've got no idea what it is," the boy said. Unless it's the traditional meaning but something tells me it's got to be different around here, everything is."
The boy placed his hand on williams shoulder and their arms where wrapped around each other. They looked like friends in an embrace and they could see each other's screens and compare.
Yeah you're right, there's no glitch on yours
And no count down either.
"You lucky bastard, is that fourteen minutes."
"Hours, he said with a chuckle, if it were minutes the fourteen would have gone down since we stared talking about it."
"Oh right… I swear I'm not always this stupid, it's just that time of the month."
They both burst out laughing and had no idea everyone stared at them like they were a bunch of idiots squatting and interlocking arms while staring at nothing.
"You look like idiots," a friery feminine voice cried.
They both turned and looked at her and the disgust on face. She blew a strand of her black hair from her eyes while glaring at them.
"What's her problem?" William asked.
"Hey don't mind my sister, she could be a b…
"Hey! Don't call me a b*tch," she said, cutting him off and giving him a death stare.
" I wasn't going to call you that, but I won't stop you." He turned back to the two of them and said, "Hi I'm Nod von bellow."
'Von bellow?' The name struck William as a bit familiar but he had no clue when he had heard it before.
"…. And this is my sister, Ingrid, she's annoyed they deaged her."
"Like hell I am, how can you say this is my prime, when I'm so lean and pasty and my boobs have been shrunken."
'Shrunken? What's she talking about,' William thought. 'They look big to me.'
"So you guys are looking at your guide?"
They both nodded, then the kid with the round glasses broke off from William, they had been keeping their squatting pose the whole time the siblings spoke.
"Hi I'm Ben and this is William." William raised his hand and gave a little a jestful wave and then he remembered he never told Ben his name.
"Do you by any chance have anything called a glitch on your guide?"
"A glitch, I'm not sure but it sounds bad."
He opened his guide and Ben watched as he scanned through it.
'Looks like everyone's picking it up fast,' William thought.
Ben looked in his eyes and realized the light from the screen didn't even reflect in them.
"Why are you looking at my chest?" Ingrid barked at William.
"What? No, I spaced out!"
"Well space out with your eyes somewhere else!"
"I wasn't staring," William said under his breath and sighed after a while he slowly turned to check if she was still looking at him.
'It's a fine pair,' William thought. 'But I wasn't looking the last time.'
Suddenly they heard fast footsteps, splashing water about, it sounded like someone was running towards them but when they looked they saw no one was just the darkness.
"Someone's in there," William said and just as he finished a man broke through darkness, running as fast as he legs could take him.
He was covered in sweat and his face was lined deep with fear, William took a step back, he'd learnt enough from his years in the slums to know when someone was running from grave danger.
"There's coming! They're after me!" The man screamed as he ran past them.
"I saw that man go in the darkness," Ben said. "He was going to look for another exit."
"But what is he running from?" William asked
Ben quickly pulled out his guide and whispered the word, "Horus" and immediately a set of instructions came up and ignored then a tried to activate it.
[Note: Cover one eyes to save time]
Ben was in a hurry so he didn't think it through, he quickly covered his left eye and a blue light filled his vision on the right eye, it quickly faded away and instantly his vision stretched far into the darkness.
He could see heat signatures and movements, he could see in infrared and in night vision and his vision fluttered form one mode to the next.
[HORUS LEVEL ONE]
His vision pierced deep into the darkness and he could see something ominous approaching but he couldn't make it out.
it looked like a stampede, with steam clouds raising into the darkness and blinding him.
he had no idea how to properly use the eye but he looked as closely as he could and when he realized what it was he gasped.
"What is it?" Everyone else screamed.
"Rats!" Ben said
"Rats?" Nod said.
"Whats do you mean rat?" Ingrid said.
"They're very large rats, like the size of a cows."
"Jezz." William turned around and looked at the three tunnels. "That block head, he's forcing us in there."
"We have to go," Ingrid said.
Suddenly the ground began to shake and the light pool of water splashed at their legs restlessly.
"Lets go Ben!"
The crowd were starting to runing inside the tunnels.
"Wait I've gotta check something." Ben turned around with his hand still clapsed on his left eye. "They're everywhere, they're all around us, there's no other exits."
[SYSTEM NOTICE]
×× [-20 MINUTES ]××
"What's this?" Ben was stunned by the sudden notice on his pov.
"Lets go!" William screamed and pulled him away, and they all ran towards the tunnels.
"Which one do we take?" Ben said.
"I've got no idea, I never had luck with these things."
Nod points to the third one from the right and said , "let's take that one! Without any more questions they all ran down that tunnel."
The roof of the tunnel was high enough for them to run straight but the walls were curve in such a way that it could only allow for one person at a time.
So they ran in a single file, with William at the front of the line, with hardly any clue where he was going and Ben at the end, deathly terrifeid.
He had seen bones and rotten corpses, half eaten by those rat creatures, those things could fit in here, he realized.
Hurry up guys I think those things could fit inthe tunnels!
"I've got no idea where we're going," William said. "I don't like this, there's no point arriving at nowhere on time, what if we're punctually running into a trap,"
"You've got a point, Nod said. "How about you use Horus to check."
"Hor what? What whore?"
"Wait! don't," Ben said.
"Why?" Nod asked.
Ben wasn't sure about the notice he had gotten and wanted to be a hundred percent sure about the things he said, he was that sort of person.
He pulled out his guide and his eyes widened in shock at the first thing he saw.
[ LIFE SPAN]

He wasn't at all surprise by his loss of twenty minute a huge part of him had expected that, but what he didn't expect was the extra minutes he was missing and worse, the seconds were counting down.
"It's started counting!" Ben said. "Guys I think the trail has already begun!."
"Yeah, what was your first clue?" William fired back.
Nod place his hand on his left eye and activated Horus, the tunnel was complete dark but with Horus, he could see the place as if it was dimly lit, he could see past William almost like he wasn't there at all and he could see they were arriving at a cross roads.
