"Hey, Eon, what the hell happened in your chemistry class man?", Roland asked walking with Vincent.
"Yeah, our house leaders have said that we need to make sure someone will always on patrol duty. In any period. They might be called any period.", Vincent said while rubbing his hair.
I fixed myself and said, "Yeah you don't say. It was crazy." And recited the whole thing which happened to them.
"Damn man I kind of liked her.", Vincent said.
"She was one of those people who just didn't have a good life in their home.", Vincent said.
After hearing this my interest was piqued.
"Well tell us more.", I said and Roland was also interested.
"Well, oh it's kind of a sad story.", he said.
"She had a good childhood up until she was the age of 6 years old. Her dad had left her mom to be with her mistress and essentially stole every life-saving the family had which led to her mother doing all kinds of jobs- maid, cleaner. But as she was doing these jobs, she was getting sicker. Nora wanted to help her mother so she started to take other jobs as well. Huh May her soul rest in peace.", Vincent said.
"Rest in peace", we both said.
But it didn't make sense why would she be trying to kill Vanessa. I seems I really needed to investigate it now.
"Oh. By the way they are actually allowing a volunteer to make rounds with house members so we thought you could join us.
How about it?", Vincent asked.
"Yeah. It's going to be fun skipping classes on the name from volunteer work.", Roland said.
"You know what I am in.", I said but at the same time I know this is my chance to find out more about these beings.
"Alright let's go to the office and sign you up.", they said.
"Okay. But by the way what are we patrolling for?", I asked to see what has been discussed in the meetings.
"Well to see if someone is messing with our school or not.", they both replied.
So, they have decided to go with this narrative rather than a demon one believes able but what can normally kid without cybernetics do.
As I was walking, I realized, they don't care whether students live or not they want to save their reputation more.
After signing up for it, I started to go to my class.
[Last period – 1:40 PM]
"You know it's a good thing that we got the last period. We can just straight go home.", Roland said.
"Yeah. It's going to be good.", Vincent replied.
"Yeah man, I am tired.", I replied but I was only trying to figure out what has happened".
As we were walking through the hallway, I felt my eyes burn but now as I had already experienced the pain my brain didn't react that harshly. I reflexively turned left and saw a dark creature hovering over her.
"I need your help.", I asked in my head.
"Yeah, with what?", he asked.
"First of all, I don't know what to call you? ", I asked.
"Call me Noel.", Noel replied.
"Alright Noel. If somebody didn't have their protection demon, do they become prone to demon attacks?", I asked.
"Yeah. They do why?", Noel asked.
"Cause right now I saw a demon looming over Vanessa.", I said.
"Good for you boy. You can impress your crush now.", he said.
"Shut up, Noel. This is not good. I feel something worse is going to take place.", I said.
"If I go and swallow the core now. Can it help me?", I asked.
"Yeah. Kid big time.", Noel replied.
As I only had about 20 or so minutes left, I started to make up a lie.
"Hey guys, my stomach doesn't feel good. You guys go I will follow you later.", I said.
"Yeah dude. Don't worry.", they replied.
As I started to walk fast towards the bathroom.
Then I immediately took out the core.
It was a grey sphere of radius 1cm with a sword symbol on it.
"Beautiful, but Eon you don't have time to appreciate the nature.", I said to myself.
As I proceeded to swallow it.
"Gulp."
After waiting a few minutes, nothing happened.
"Oi, Noel. Did you trick me into something weird?", I asked.
"Oh, don't sweat. It's about to start now.", Noel replied.
As he said it my heartbeat started to increase and felt my surrounding get wrapped around. I couldn't stand on my two feet. It was as if I did a hardcore drug or something.

"Oi wakes up! WAKE UP", Noel screamed.
"Ahn. Noel how much time has it been 15 mins.", he said
"I don't feel great. Yeah, neither did I the first Time around.", He said
"So, what are my powers?", I asked.
"Well imagine a screen in front of you. You will see it", He replied.
"What? What is this a System novel? Oh, it is.", as I said I saw red screen appear Infront of me.

"Wow it does look good. Doesn't it?", I said.
"So, what I get an awesome as quests and save the world?", I asked.
"No, Eon. This thing is just how your mind work. It creates certain programs and you fulfill it.", he said.
"So, it is different for different people.", I asked.
"Yes, for other demon hunter some get a cute pet which tells them, some get a paper which helps them. In your case it's a game panel.", Noel said.
"So, what are you a demon hunter as well?", I asked as I knew nothing about him.
"No. I am not. Just let me explain how it works first.", he said.
After hearing the sadness in his voice, I didn't ask.
"Spells like Darkness flame can be upgraded by darkness essence but sword mastery needs to be upgraded by only your pure skills.", Noel replied.
"Ok so I just need to imagine me putting the darkness essence in the fire spell.", I asked.
"Yes.", Noel replied.
As he said that, I imagined myself in a dark room with a greyish ball of light.
I walked towards it and tried to carry it towards the black bluish pot and drop it in.

It is the flame which was given to every demon hunter to identify demons and exorcise them. It also heals allies. It is from the demon 'Kolos'.]
"I did it.", I said.
"Congratulations! You did it.", Noel said.
"Well, I am going to sleep. Wake me up if something interesting happens.", Noel said and went back to sleep.
I then tried to manifest my flame. It was beautiful mesmerizing. Before it was an untamed cub but now it seemed an experienced fighter ready to burn its enemy to crisps.
"Well, it seems like it's time to hunt some demons.", I said.
As I made my way out of the bathroom and on my way to the 4th floor where I felt a demon's presence.
